  • David

“This was the cleanest and best equipped holiday home we have ever stayed in.”

It was also very handy for travelling north or south on the coast and visiting the beautiful inland countryside. Very highly recommended.

The property

Settled in the quaint village of Scalby, near the bustling amenities of Scarborough, rests this semi-detached holiday home, The Firs.

Just under two miles away from a sandy beach, this welcoming abode is ideal for a family of five and their canine companion.

Admire the stone cottages that are scattered around the village before you reach your home-from-home, with a large driveway for ample parking.

Enter through the side of the property into the utility room, here you can wash and dry your sandy clothes after a day lounging on the beach.

Be charmed by the country-style kitchen/diner, hosting an electric range cooker and gas hob to rustle up hearty meals and a dishwasher for a fuss-free clean.

When the dishes are piping hot, serve them at the dining table, where you can dine together and toast to a splendid getaway.

Throw open the French doors to discover the large lawn and when the sun is shining enjoy an alfresco affair on the garden furniture!

Moving through the property, locate the sitting room, where you can snuggle up beside the crackling open-fire and flicker through the Smart TV.

Adjacent, you will find the games room to keep the young ones entertained, with a Smart TV and bean bags for a fun film night, away from the adults.

As the night draws in, climb upstairs and why not indulge in a leisurely soak in the bathroom or if you're still sandy, enjoy a rinse in the overhead shower.

When eyes grow heavy, there is a king-size, a twin and a single to rest your head; all with fantastic storage to house your belongings.

Awaken with a steaming cup of coffee, courtesy of the coffee maker, to soak in the views from the rear garden before exploring your scenic surroundings.

Be sure to bring your bike to tour the National Cycle Route 1 and pack your bucket and spades to take advantage of the Blue Flag beach, North Bay Beach.

A short car journey will lead you to the seaside resort of Scarborough, where you can test your swing on a cliff top golf course or have some family fun at Crazy Golf.

Spend an afternoon seeing a range of marine life at SEA LIFE, unveil 3000 years of history at Scarborough Castle or enjoy fresh fish and chips on the beachfront.

Why not head to Whitby, home to the 7th-century Whitby Abbey, the unique Captain Cook Memorial Museum and the little ones can enjoy donkey rides along the beach?

For long-lasting memories, whisk your loved ones to The Firs.
