Kittiwake Cottage

Beautifully renovated 2 bed cottage in the old part of Scarborough.

Looks brand new. We loved the colours and the vintage posters , the heavy pottery mugs and lovely furniture- comfy beds and sofa . Can tell house is a work of love by the owners. There is a small outside space at the back which would benefit from addition of a table and chairs. Didn't bother us but would be nice place to sit on occasion.

We visited Scarborough to watch the cricket, and were delighted to have booked Kittiwake cottage.

This is a fully equipped home from home. The decor is done to an excellent standard and It has everything you need to deliver a stress free holiday. The owners were happy to answer any queries we had prior to arrival; don't hesitate to book a break at this property.

The accommodation was excellent; beautifully and stylishly decorated.

Ideal for the town, and easy to explore more widely. On-street parking was no trouble. It’s a very quiet and calm place to stay; highly recommended.

We stayed with our little girl and it was perfect for a long weekend in the sunshine (although you could happily stay here for a week).

The location is good, easy to get to the castle/town/beach, the property is beautifully presented and finished to a really high standard. The beds and sofas are comfy, shower is nice, the second bedroom is lovely for kids. Would highly recommend.

What a fantastic place to stay!

This holiday home is decorated lovely, so well equipped and is in a really good location for Scarborough's town centre. We will definitely come back again! :)

We had a great week in this lovely house.

Clearly a lot of thought and care has gone into the house, which was very clean and we had a very comfortable stay. Parking nearby was easy and so close to the beach and town. Our children appreciated the toys and books and there’s nothing we could fault. We would happily stay again.

Have stayed at the Kittiwake many times and will definitely return.

Perfect location to all amenities but so quiet and peaceful. It’s like home from home, all fixtures and fittings are a high quality and can’t wait to return.

The standard of the property is excellent but we would have appreciated a hospitality pack as per last year when there was milk, wine and a bottle of milk.

This year there was nothing and after travelling it would have been nice to make a cup of tea or coffee.

Second consecutive year for a traditional seaside holiday with our young grandchildren.

Very well equipped property with quality furnishings and linen situated in a quiet part of Scarborough close to town. Hairy Bob’s Skate/scooter/bike park is easily reached and visited daily on our walk down to North Bay beach. Managed to get parked outside the cottage and the car didn’t move all week!

We had such a wonderful stay.

It was a real home from home. The whole house was perfectly decorated and was fully equipped with everything you could think of, (even a juicer for the excess oranges we brought from home!) Finished to a very high standard with lots of care and attention. We would love to stay again. The location was great, parking was good too.

Second time we have holidayed at Kittiwake.

We had a wonderful long weekend at Kittiwake cottage with our children, no issues with parking in front of the property despite our late arrival.

Great location for exploring Scarborough by foot. It’s clear the cottage has been lovingly restored by the owners, it’s homely, comfortable and stylishly decorated. Very well equipped with quality furnishings and items, I feel a full length mirror and some prosecco glasses would be welcome additions, but these are only minor things. Lots of useful local information provided. Thank you for sharing your beautiful holiday home, we hope to return in the future.

We had a fantastic stay at Kittiwake Cottage.

The property was immaculately presented, stylish and comfortable. We had everything we needed for a few days visiting family by the sea. The location is perfect – just a 5 minute walk down to the seafront but on a quiet residential street. We’d love to stay again. Thanks for a wonderful few days!

What a lovely cottage and our second visit this year.

Very comfortable and pleasant accommodation in a quiet and peaceful location. Near enough to all amenities but far enough to not notice.

A lovely property and the best equipped house we’ve stayed in for a long time!

The only thing I would have liked to have was a safety mat to stand on in the bath when I had a shower.

The cottage certainly lived up to our expectations.

We really appreciated the exceptionally high standard of the fixtures and fittings and the cleanliness throughout the cottage. The welcome gift was a nice touch. One item of concern was the rope handrail on the stairs which gave us some safety concerns and we would recommend a permanent banister be fitted. Laurence & Sally.

The cottage was well equipped and comfortable.

Well positioned for access to amenities. Very quiet late evening which was a delight. Parking was better than expected but we may have been lucky that week. Scarborough Arms close by and well worth a visit for a meal.

What an absolute hidden gem to come across so close to the sea (with a wonderful view from the kitchen window), this place is perfect.

We arrived to a little welcome gift which was a lovely touch. You can see that this cottage is a labour of love for the owners and they make it a warm and welcoming place to stay. Thank you for having us, we will most definitely be back!

We took our grandchildren aged 6 and 9 and had a fabulous week.

The cottage has been lovingly restored to a high standard and felt roomy and light. Lots of useful storage including a long bench in the hallway for outdoor shoes etc. We were lucky to get parked right outside and didn’t use the car once. The street is very quiet with no through traffic. The only negative was the rope bannister which my husband found a challenge although his balance is slightly impaired due to Parkinson’s

Great stay, good holiday home.

A few small things would have been nice like hand soap in the bathroom. But generally great.

Rather cold.

Heating came on at 7.30. I get up at 5! No carpet at all. Parking extremely difficult

The only problem we had was the steep staircase it wasn’t suitable for older people like ourselves.

We live in a bungalow so have bungalow knees!!!

Kittiwake Cottage is absolutely gorgeous, down to the tiniest details.

It is clearly a labour of love for the owners, who have created an inspiring and peaceful place to be. The house is comfortavle and inviting, annd perfectly situated. We will definitely be back, and have already recommended it to millions of people. Thank you

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at the cottage and again it did not disappoint.

The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing break, it feels like a home from home. It is well equipped and has been restored to an amazing standard. The cottage is well placed to explore Scarborough, a short walk from the excellent market and sea front. Hope to return again in 2024.

We loved Kittiwake cottage.

The perfect setting for two old friends to share a weekend of nostalgia, walking and fun. Ideally located between the two bays with plenty of eating places close by. It has been lovingly refurbished to a high standard creating a clean and comfortable space. We were so lucky to have sunny weather and witness sunrises and sunsets. A smashing space to create memories. Thankyou.

All rooms are generously proportioned and immaculately furnished. Very helpful owner - had an enjoyable and relaxing stay. Would definitely recommend it.

Kittiwake Cottage was really wonderful, in a good location near the centre of town but also very quiet (apart from the obvious seagulls which we don’t mind because we’re at the seaside!

) The renovations have been done beautifully which makes the space feel cosy yet contemporary. Lots of storage, the kitchen has everything we needed, including a sea view, and the wine and biscuits were a lovely touch. We enjoyed browsing all the fascinating books and magazines and the box of local information was very useful. We’d definitely return and recommend.

Absolutely beautiful house in a quiet and peaceful location (except for the seagulls!

) The house has everything you could want or need and is stunningly decorated throughout. It felt like home as soon as we walked in. We took our two young kids (4 &6) and they had a great time. They loved sharing the twin room and thought the kids books that were there were brilliant! Only small issue was parking, which was limited, but we managed to get a spot every day. I imagine it might be trickier in the warmer weather. Really close to the town and beach front but away from the chaos and noise. Absolutely cannot fault it!

Kittiwake cottage was lovely, very homely and comfortable.

I personally loved all the bespoke wood work around the place, a great skill to have! Great attention to detail. Found the double bed mattress a little too soft, but that’s just preference. Parking could also be limited at times. However these are tiny things, overall we had a fantastic stay and would love to return!

From the moment we walked into the property we felt at home.

It was spotlessly clean, well-furnished and extremely well equipped. As other visitors have commented the owners have obviously thought about what people want in a holiday home and supplied it and more. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Scarborough.

We loved the property straight away.

It's so homely. Cosy, quiet ,and very comfortable. It's the first time away that we were not ready to get home. Such a fabulous cottage . All the furniture is beautifully made. It's been very carefully prepared for a super holiday stay . Bedding great . Bed comfortable. We've loved it and would definitely stay again . Kind regards Cheryl and Graham.
