This is a beautiful house with spacious bedrooms, 2 lovely comfortable lounges, fantastic kitchen facilities with an American fridge freezer and large storage cupboard for all our food.

Dining room that was perfect for us all to eat together and play games around a large table. A bonus was the ground floor bedroom with walk in shower for the less abled bodies of our group. This house is so close to Peasholm park even I managed to get there in a few minutes even though I was very slow on crutches. The north bay beach is not much further away and a nice ice cream parlour on route. Loved every minute of this stay and would recommend it for anyone wanting a large group get together in a beautiful location and accommodation.

A well-positioned house, a few minutes walk to North Beach and close to Peasholm Park.

The accommodation was beautifully clean, spacious and well equipped. Hillcrest is a professionally run holiday "cottage" without the private ownership cost-cutting issues that so often bug me, so, for example, it has good quality furniture. My party had several well-travelled members and everyone agreed it was the best self catering accommodation they'd ever stayed in. Well done the management company!

Perfect facilities and location. Just a couple of things to comment in case you weren't aware: We couldn't get the TV to work in the king-size room with the bath and there was a little bit of mould in the bar fridge (on the bottom and around the door - prob just through lack of use and being left shut).

Wear and tear to be expected with the number of different guests staying there. Thank you for your quick reply and sending a handyman to fix the problems. We chose this property because of the on suites to each room, chairs instead of benches at the dining table and parking for 5 cars

Clean, comfortable and well placed for beach and town. No complaints and would stay again.

The house was great.

Perfect location, close to the park and beach, quiet, and well maintained on the whole. Lovely to have en-suites in each bedroom, (a real plus!), plenty of space for us all around the table to eat, lounges are both comfy and welcoming. Outside space is all paved, there’s a mix of chairs which enabled us to sit out. The keys were missing from the patio door in the dining room unfortunately, which meant that it was very hot (we were lucky enough to have warm sunny weather!) and we couldn’t access the outside space from there, which was a shame. The photo of the kitchen gives an impression it’s bigger than it is. For us, this wasn’t an issue, we managed fine, but it isn’t a space that accommodates more than a couple of people happily, we catered fine for our party of 12. The main fridge is a very good size, with an extra drinks fridge in the lounge which was great for bottles etc. The house has a comfy feeling, and works well for a big group. The decor isn’t for everyone, wallpaper choices are ‘bold’ rather than neutral, but it’s comfortable, clean, and welcoming. We had a great stay, and would happily return.

We had a great stay at Hillcrest, as a large family gathering.

There was more than enough space for us all. Well equipped and in a great location for the beaches and parks.

We had a wonderful stay at Hillcrest for my mother’s 70th birthday.

Perfect location, close to the park, beach and shops/amenities. Enough parking for 4 cars. Clean and tidy, we stayed very comfortably and was very handy having the 2 sitting rooms and en-suites in every room. However was a little downside only having one en-suite bath with 5 young children in the house but we managed. We would recommend this property to others, we had a wonderful week! Some things to note; a couple of the beds the children slept on weren’t comfy for adults, lucky the kids didn’t notice ie: top floor (single&double room), several of the shower heads need to be replaced, please include more coffee cups (not enough for amount of people staying), provide more hair dryers. The dining room chairs kept shredding the leather (even beneath the covers) so we had to keep hovering it up - recommend to replace them. Another suggestion would be to change the TV in the green sitting room to a smart TV so there are 2 in the property. Noticed coffee machine wasn’t working and owner replaced within a couple of days - thank you for this!

It was a lovely house in a great location near to the park and North Shore beach.

The bedrooms were all nicely decorated and spacious although the en-suite bathrooms are very small and the showers extremely compact! However we did appreciate that every bedroom did have its own bathroom so that compensated for the very small bathrooms/showers. I would definitely recommend the house to others and would return myself.

I was disappointed finding out after booking we could have had a week for same money.

This is a great property for large groups we had a fabulous family holiday here .

Very comfortable beds , spacious and the dining table is big enough for everyone to eat around . Loved the 2 separate rooms to relax in . Very close to Peasholm Park and the North bay . So much to discover on the doorstep . We hope to visit again . Thank you

The house is lovely with all the facilities and equipment needed.

Very spacious for 14 of us and nice to have our own bathrooms. Walking distance to the North beach and into the town centre. We would definitely recommend this property.

To celebrate my 80th birthday 14 members of my family stayed at Hillcrest; Friday to Monday.

The house was amazing, with en-suite bedrooms to accommodate everybody. It was spotlessly clean, very warm and had everything we needed to cook, relax and enjoy our stay. Hillcrest is in an ideal spot for enjoying Scarborough with the North Bay, cafes and local shops nearby. Thank you.

Had an excellent stay at this house.

There was plenty of room to relax and a huge dining space, though the kitchen is a little tight for a large house. Very handy for a large group that all bedrooms had en-suite bathrooms, making it much easier to get out and about on a morning!

We had a great stay at Hillcrest.

It was spacious, comfortable and well located. All the rooms being ensuite was a bonus and the beds were very comfy. A very short walk to the beach, park and some nice pubs. We hope to return!

We booked Hillcrest house as a family of three generations.

The size of the house was brilliant for our large party and facilities were good. A useful utility area with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Our stay was for a week so these were quite important. We'd asked for highchair and travel cot and these were provided. 2 sitting rooms as well as a large dining room. The location of the house was ideal and within easy walking distance of the seafront and the town centre. On the whole the house was clean and well cared for. If I had any slight criticism at all it would be as follows. Some of the shower cubicles were a little on the small side but there's not much can be done about this. During our stay one of our party lost their reading glasses and proceeded to check down the side and back of the sofas. There were bits of paper and fluffy that had obviously been there for a while so these could do with a thorough clean out. The yale lock on the outer door was a little rickety but as there was also an inner lockable door then this didn't pose a security problem. These small things didn't detract from our stay which was very enjoyable.

Fantastic house!

Every aspect of the house was great, but for our family the downstairs bedroom, and accessibility of the property, were the most important as my Dad has mobility problems. We wouldn't have been able to get away together without this. There is an incline from the main road up to the property but Dad's little mobility scooter managed it fine. Would definitely recommend for a large group and would stay here again.

This property was perfect for our large family which included elderly grand parents, brothers with additional needs and a busy 5 year old.

Tvs and ensuites in every bedroom. Accessible downstairs bedroom. 2 sitting rooms and large dining room so loads of space to spread out. Brilliant location for Peasholm Park and 10 minute walk from Northbay beach and cafes. Amenities on the doorstep. Plenty of off street parking. I think our only suggested improvement is that maybe some necessities were a little short on supply such as spare toilet rolls, bin bags and dish washer tablets. Whilst it's reasonable to expect to have to buy extra, for a large house with capacity for 16 people we felt perhaps there could have been more. This did not spoil our holiday though! Owners were excellent at responding to issues-a fault with the oven etc. And the bottles of prosecco were a very nice touch!

Hillcrest House is a beautiful house, on arrival we were amazed how spacious it was as you can't always judge things on photos on website.

It was so relaxing with 2 lounges + the bedrooms were all ensuute, everyone slept really well as the beds were so comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped, everything you needed. The location is absolutely perfect, so quiet next to Peasholm Park + 5 minutes to the beach. To sum up our stay at Hillcrest House was amazing + definitely 5 star accommodation, we all had a fantastic time + would love to return some time. Couldn't fault anything.

Very warm comfortable accommodation in a quiet residential area.

Top floor back bedroom needs a new mattress but all other bedrooms were fine. We were a mixed group of old school friends and would all highly recommend this house.

Everything is very tastefully done and having every lovely bedroom en-suite is a very great plus. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a large holiday house. Thank you.

A very nice property for larger family groups.

Ample space to cook and dine, to rest and lounge. The only comment to make is the early departure request. 9:00am is a tat too early.

Lovely big house, plenty of room for 13 people (adults).

The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked for a large party, which is unusual (we have stayed in big houses for 20+ years and there are not normally enough big pots etc to cook for a large party). Great to have a separate utility and downstairs wc - especially if your bedroom was on the top floor! One downside was the checkout time of 9am. Although when I asked it was extended to 11am - but that wasn't informed until the day before departure and we had already decided to leave the day before because of this (although the gesture was appreciated). It would put me off staying again as we had to cut the holiday short. All in all though a great house, we had a fabulous week and never felt at any time cramped in the property.

This was a great place to stay for our 3 day work retreat in Scarborough for 9 adults and 2 children.

The rooms were super comfortable and clean and it was an added luxury that they all were ensuite. The house was really warm which was great after being outside in the bracing sea wind. I would highly recommend it for other similar groups. The only niggle was that we couldn't get the safety lock to open with the code to leave the keys when we left before 9 and no one was available at the office to answer the phone.

Nice cosy house.

Mostly comfortable and quiet. Main niggles: Dining room extremely awkward for elderly manoevres - kitchen equipment, eg no carving fork, blunt knives, no cooker or microwave instructions. But in comparison to at least 20 other houses we've stayed in as a group over the past 40 odd years, not bad!

Great location in easy reach walking to most places of interest.

The beds and bedrooms are comfortable. Plenty of seating over the two lounges and of good quality. The kitchen is small in comparison to other properties we have stayed in. Eleven people all trying to get their breakfast became an art. Apart from that would highly recommend the property.

Excellent well appointed property ideal for our mixed family group of 8 adults and 5 children.

Clean and well equipped kitchen, I took my own pizza baking trays as find these are never provided in holiday properties. Cooker seemed to take long time to heat up and had to cook at higher temperature than I would at home. Would have liked to know there was a coffee machine in the kitchen. There were nice touches like the welcome tray in the kitchen, soap bars and toilet rolls in the bathrooms Overall this was a lovely property in a great location.

A lovely house in a perfect location for enjoying all the area has to offer.

We found it spotlessly clean and generously equipped, with extra thoughtful touches like umbrellas and torches (neither were needed, but appreciated none the less). An excellent venue for a family gathering.

Lovely house with all bedrooms having en suites.

The oven seemed quite poor - failing to heat up fully. This may be because the grill tray, covered by a foil wrapped shelf was set so they the fan was bisected. As a result food took three times as long as it should have done to cook.

Great Easter weekend for our extended family.

House was fantastic having 8 ensuite bedrooms. Only slight issue was the size of the kitchen when catering for a party of 15. Location was perfect and we had a great time, thank you, kelvyn ashby

It was a wonderful, comfy and very warm house.

The bedrooms were delightful. We were 8 friends, of various ages, 1 in her eighties, 1 in her seventies and the rest in their sixties. Everyone was delighted with the house and its position. We will be back. ( if you will have us ). Thank you.

We thought the property was really lovely, thanks for having us to stay.

Just two issues, one was that one toilet was used, unflushed and blocked when we arrived, secondly it would have been nice if there was hand soap in the bathrooms. Thanks again Rachael

We would all like to thank both Sykes staff and the owners of Hillcrest for the exceptional service and communication throughout.

We had asked a couple of questions which were answered immediately. We had one query on the first evening which again was acted upon very quickly with good communication between Sykes the owners and ourselves. Hillcrest itself is in a lovely location and a 5 minute walk to the sea and a range of bars restaurants etc. The idyllic Peasholme Park is literally a 2 minute walk away and has a lovely walk with waterfalls and a beautiful Christmas lights display.The Spa theatre production of Dick Whittington was superb and the grandchildren were utterly enthralled throughout. The adult insinuations were appropriate for the age group without going over the top. We all felt comfortable as Grandparents and Parents when watching with the children The property itself is stunning and large enough for our family Christmas and was even decorated with a lovely tree. The welcoming gifts were especially thoughtful and much appreciated. I can't recommend this property highly enough. Thank you

The property was clean and tidy when we arrived.

Managed to get 6 large cars on the drive. The location was perfect for access to the beach for walks etc. The house was lovely and warm, we actually turned it down and put it back to the original setting when we left. Good supply of local shops just a very short walk around the corner. The few things that caused us issues were the kitchen equipment, very poorly equipped for a house that can sleep 16 (we were 14 adults). There was 1 very old medium sized roasting dish, 1 small baking tray, one peeler. There were two glass pyrex dishes to serve food/cook food and that was it. A trip to the local supermarket to purchase equipment to cook Sunday roast was necessary. There were not enough wine glasses and limited beer and soft drink glasses. There was 2 chopping boards, one very small A5 sized and the other A4 sized. Totally inadequate for prep of meat/chicken/veg. Also people will ruin the worktops!! None of these items cost much. So disappointed. To cook for 14 was a challenge every night. We find it very difficult to eat out so always cook in. 1st bedroom on left as you go upstairs is very damp on the wall behind the bed, dripping water, which had penetrated the mattress. Bathroom also damp with mould. Behind the chest of drawers there was fluffy mould too. The bedroom with the double and single has a socket coming off. Information book needs updating, it tells you to put large refuge bin out on Wednesday, but it was still uncollected when we left Friday? Some hooks on doors in bedrooms and bathrooms would be helpful. On the first floor 2nd room on left there is no mirror. Overall we had a lovely break and the issues mentioned are numerous but not difficult to correct. It's a large group house and should be kitted appropriately. All this was noted in the maintenance log too.

Check out timing 0900 was bit early with children.

The property was clean and the general appearance good.

However there were several hiccups for us which caused a bit of anxiety. However for the more difficult things the owner responded immediately and was very helpful

Property had everything we had hoped for.

The property is well placed for the North Bay, and within yards of the main park.

Very clean, and fitted out with quality furniture. All bedrooms were en-suite, which was a plus for us. Parking was tight, but we managed to get 5 cars on the front quite easily. The dining room was great and all twelve of us fitted around the table with room to spare. Kitchen is kitted out well but a bit 'cosy' , so no room for two many cooks issues. Could have done with more pint glasses and wine glasses, but on the whole fine. We are a family group that meet up two to three times a year. This was one of the best ones we have had. Thank you for arranging the weather too. Possibly the only negative, was the lack of information, guides etc in the house, but probably a Covid response to move them. We would certainly recommend this property.

A well equipped property in a very good position in Scarborough.

Facilities were very good, and spacious rooms. Warm and well heated throughout. Only one issue re a shower which we reported. Would certainly recommend for larger family gatherings. Gordon and Ros.

We had 14 people in the property, every room has an en-suite and it never felt like a crowded place with all them people there.

Great location, short walk to peasholm park or the beach. Great if you have dogs.

This is a lovely property in a good location, having all the rooms en-suite was a real bonus.

We appreciated the provision of towels and good quality sheets. However, the kitchen is too small for the number of guests. Also having the lounge split across too rooms made it difficult for all of use to be together in the evening.

Beautifully decorated, very clean, beds top spec and comfortable, front door needs sign as it closes on security lock and we left keys inside whilst we unpacked the cars , so locked ourselves out :) (Owner was in Scarborough on that weekend so he came within 15 minutes to help) plenty of car spaces which is a premium, there were 15 of us and not enough wine glasses for our evening meal, but that is not a real issue, plenty of sitting rooms and very well thought out, great kitchen and utility room too.

Nice outside space although a little bit too cold when we went to sit out. Great location to get in to town and seafront.

a wonderful place with lots of room and all our needs met for a large family stay with a wheelchair user and small children.

Only issues we had were with the front inner door which we couldn't open with its key and the lack of a bottle opener and corkscrew. Also as the ground floor accessible room is a brilliant selling pint it would be great to get hand rails fitted as this would appeal to groups like us with elderly members who need more help with access.

Our stay was excellent, a family get together after so long apart, 5 children, 3 and under, plus 9 adults.

The house was perfect for us and the location with parks and beaches so close by was excellent. We even saw dolphins in the bay and were blessed by glorious weather. The front door keys were VERY difficult and stuck regularly, so we would suggest the lock and keys should be checked and possibly replaced In the house all the doors were very squeaky which would not ordinarily be a problem, but when constantly checking on small children they were quite iritating. A cafetiere or similar or coffee machine would have been a nice addition. The above are minor points on what was a very comfortable house and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Everything was fine apart from the bathrooms.

The shower mats wevery dirty and beyond cleaning. One of the showers had a blocked drain and when used it overflowed. The cord for the light in one bathroom had broken off and the fitting had been glued so the light would not turn off and could not sleep as light filtered into bedroom. Needs instructions for the cooker as it did not get hot enough. However we would all stay here again as all our issues were addressed quickly to our satisfaction. The location is fantastic.

Beautiful house with plenty of room, some of the bedrooms on the small side but that didn’t matter to us!

Some of the bathrooms and shower cubicles very small, if you’re on the larger side can be a problem.

Butiful house, clean,,had a good time,five cars on this car park, challenging, but can be done.

Fabulous house.

Excellent location. Super handy for Peasholn Park, the beach, cafe, supermarket etc. Great to have a basic kitchen stock of tea bags, salt and sugar etc. House was lovely and warm and welcoming. ONLY negative is lack of recycling facilities.....the bin is for general waste only. We saved ours up to drop at Sainsburys recycling but they've removed the containers so it was a trip home for our bottles and cans and plastic.

The pictures of the kitchen are misleading , as the kitchen is so small for the amount of people who can stay there

Absolutely fantastic property.

Lovely little courtyard garden not shown on photos. Location great. We had a couple of issues which were resolved immediately.

Really lovely clean and well equipped property, it seemed recently refurbished with new carpets etc, the double/king rooms vary in size, most are really spacious but a few are a bit of a tight squeeze around the bed, all ensuite though.

Excellent long dining table and two comfy lounges. The only thing it is lacking really is outdoor space & BBQ, there is a small yard at the back with a washing line and a tiny table & chairs but it is not large enough to accomodate the number of people that the house does. Having said that, it couldn't be much closer to the beautiful Peasholm Park (one of the best parks I've seen, so much to do) and easy walking distance to the beach so outdoor time can be done there. The location really is excellent, it is in North Bay which was beautiful and surprisingly unspolit, very tastefully done with a few shops & cafes and colourful beachuts, but you can easily walk to the shopping centre and to South Bay if you want a taste of the arcades, fairgrounds, boat ride etc

House was really lovely had everything you would need for a large group.

There was rubbish left near the entrance door, which would have been thrown away but wasn't, this is the only issue we had.

A great holiday home for a large family gathering, with all rooms ensuite.

Location is quiet and handy for the beach, town and Peasholm Park. As it becomes more used to being a holiday let, rather than a hotel, it will hopefully provide a few more things that we felt were missing... for instance - a bin in each bedroom, a standard sized teapot, a larger sieve, some kitchen scales. We were very pleased to see that the owners left some basics - washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc - to get us started.
