Nice house in a convenient area with easy access to North Bay and town centre.

Parking reasonably easy with parking permits supplied by the owner. Welcome pack a lovely touch. Had a lovely week.

House is in a good location. We never used our car for the week stay. Parking premit provided. Enjoyed walking everywhere. Beach and peasholme park a short walk away. House good size for family of 6. Plenty of space. Kitchen great size for cooking. Would return for another stay.

Booked the accommodation on the back of going to a concert at the open air theater ,absolutely brilliant location for access to peasholm park the beach and Scarborough town centre ,The house was nicely laid out with adequate space for all guests , had a lovely comfortable stay thankyou very much ,would definitely book again

Lovely property, excellent facilities, great variety of kitchen utensils, modern appliances.

Comfortable lounge huge TV lovely dining room, great court yard that we used mostly on an evening due to being a sun trap just wish we had of remembered our parasol we would have sat out more. As for the location fantastic 5 minutes walk to the beach that we visited often, 2 minutes to the Park with boating lake, we had great stay and thoroughly enjoyed our time in Scarborough looking forward to returning in the future.

The position of the accommodation is near to Peasholm Park and North Bay a 20 min walk in the other direction will take you to the centre of Scarborough.

The accommodation successfully kept four adults and two nearly teens comfortable. The decor was excellent throughout. The house and beds were comfortable and amenities good, although food stuck to one of the frying pans, just a minor problem. We did have some difficulty with low water pressure which meant one of our party couldn’t get a warm bath which is needed to ameliorate a long term condition. The courtyard garden is small and catches the morning sun, plus the additional wash area is great. We also managed to fit the mobility scooter in there overnight too.

Superb cottage everything was brilliant so clean and well stocked with everything best cottage I’ve ever stayed in and I’ve booked about 40 now highly recommend this cottage

Moorland house exceeded our expectations!

The layout was more dog friendly than the photos suggested - everything was clean and tidy and everything we could need was provided, even a welcome card and gift from the owners. The house was perfectly situated - couldn't fault anything. Thank you so much - we booked for a small family holiday for Mum's 80th birthday and she came away so happy

We have just arrived back from a two week break at Moorland house, we had a lovely relaxing stay.

Such a well equipped and spacious house, everything we needed, centrally located. The welcome gift was very much appreciated and so thoughtful. Thank you. Highly recommend and we will return.

A lovely well equipped property, very clean and welcoming.

The only thing stopping me giving a 5 star rating was the fact that all the bedroom windows had a top opener only that was too high to reach to able to open them and nothing available to stand on to reach. The 4 of us were having our 52 yr QARNN reunion and we all like windows open at night so found difficulty sleeping in very stuffy rooms despite turning the heating off. Not great for fire safety in that respect either.

2nd time staying here, the property was clean and well stocked, wellcome pack much appreciated, location is ideal for beach or town, park right outside front door,

The property is in need of a deep clean.

Not the sort that can be achieved between ten and three on changeover day. Even basic cleaning was poor, we had to clean the fridge freezer before putting our food in and put the cutlery and crockery in the dishwasher before use. The house is spacious for four and in a good location with the beach and park near. However years of holiday makers have taken a toll and many of the rooms such as the bathrooms are in need of a refresh. The garden utility room is a disgrace.

Well located for town and North Bay beach.

Spacious house, with smart tv ,dishwasher and secure outside area, plenty of road parking right outside and scratchcards provided. Lovely welcome gifts of cake, wine etc. We would have liked firmer pillows but personal preference. Hideout bar at end of the road for good burgers,drinks and dogs made welcome.

Good location for North beach and Peasholm park.

Smelt of dogs downstairs. A little dusty in bedroom and pillows very soft. The opening windows at the front of house are very high, you need to be at least 5'10'' to reach them. The layout is good with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, neither en-suite. Well provisioned including dishwasher and spacious rooms. Nice outside space with seating and a shed with washing machine. Generally quiet, occasional dog barking and seagulls squawking. The parking is good but instructions a little confusing including the council website.. The 2 day pass covers day 1, day 2 and till 10am the following day. The disc is very useful for parking elsewhere around Scarborough. Fast (50Kw+) electric chargers available at a nearby car park, you must also pay to park before you start charging. One fast charger also available at LIDL but often occupied.

Yet another wonderful stay at Moorland House.

Not only is it a great place to stay in a great location. We are always impressed about what extras are provided like dishwasher tablets, condiments and other items that are not usually included in other places we have stayed it. We look forward to staying again in 2006.

Lovely house, lots of space, good facilities, clean and comfortable.

Parking not an issue and in a good location near to Peasholm Park and North Bay. Would happily stay here again. Minor caveats - bins - we didn't know when to put out the green bin as the schedule in the information folder was out of date. Bathroom with shower - we could have done with some shelf/storage space for toiletries. Otherwise perfect!

The beach and park to walk the dogs are all brilliant and would recommend that to anyone else who stays, the place I couldn't fault. Yes I would go back for another week.

Lovely stay at moorland house would highly recommend and book again

Just spent Easter weekend at this property.

It was very comfortable for us all (4 adults, a toddler and our pooch). Lovely welcome pack… bottle of red, milk, cake, tea, coffee and sugar. There was a high hair and travel cot available to use. The kitchen was very well equipped and the dining room spacious. The living room was cosy with enough seating for everyone. The beds are very comfortable and we all slept so well. The owner provides parking permits and we had no trouble parking both of our cars directly outside the house. Moorland house is in a quiet street with easy walkable access to North Bay. Peasholme park is just a 5 minute walk. We definitely made the most of our Friday to Monday stay.. and crammed loads into the weekend. We will most certainly return again without hesitation.

Moorland House is well situated and offered everything we needed for a couple of days away.

The property was clean and comfortable and we benefited from the kindness of the owners and their welcome card and foodstuffs - thank you! The provision of parking permits for the road and for roads nearby was much appreciated too. It was lovely to be able to walk to the park and to the sea easily and there were lots of facilities close by.

Just spent 3 nights at moorland house and it was the perfect location for us.

Close to peasholm park, the beach and a few shops and bars. On our first night there was a very strong smell of dogs. Whilst we appreciate this is a dog friendly house and we also brought our own small dog, the smell in the lounge was very strong! Clearly must have been the previous occupants. The smell did wear off slightly during our stay. The property was perfect but could do with a bit of updating upstairs.

Lovely home from home ideal for a family holiday.

This is our third visit to Moorland House and we will be booking for next year.

We love this place which is a home from home and it's location. So close to Peasholm Park and North Bay beach for the doggie walks and as a base for visiting the local area - Whitby is fantastic with so much to do. Found the Italian Gardens in South Bay this time and loved feeding the squirrels in the garden, especially the Rose Garden - they are so friendly you can actually give the nut to them and they sit and eat it near you then ready for the next one. If you want more action lots of Arcades on the South Bay front and the beach straight off the road. North Bay Fisheries is a great fish n chip shop just down the road from this property. Highly recommend this property, Scarborough and the owner Ryk who left a lovely welcome cake, milk and wine for your arrival - however as a diabetic did have to take an extra shot of insulin as it would have rude not to have a slice of the chocolate cake.

The house is in a perfect location, 2 minutes walk to Peasholm Park and 5 minutes to the beach. The property is so spacious and comfortable. There is plenty of parking on the road and parking permits are provided. We as a family thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and look forward to hopefully coming back again next year.

A really super place to stay.

Location great, a short walk to the front. Super cafe/bar 5 mins away called Hideout. Pub food lovely at The Scarborough Arms recommended by the owner. House itself was super! Clean & very welcoming with fresh flowers & wine. The owner will provide extras if its an occasion for your stay. Would rent again.

We had a lovely Christmas.Nice to have two bathrooms. Only a couple of small issues Couldn't get the shower to work above the bath.Bigger TV in lounge would be great

We had a great weekend in Moorland House.

It felt very homely, welcoming and had everything we needed for a lovely time away. We have family in Scarborough and they came up to visit us. There was plenty of room to accommodate us all in the kitchen and dining room for a lovely catch up. The courtyard is really nice, unfortunately we didn’t get chance to sit out there because of the weather, but the little out house with the washing machine and dryer in was very handy. We had an issue with the bathroom door in that the handle was quite loose and nearly did come off while someone was in there. I left a note in the visitor’s book about it. The beds were lovely and comfy and the two bathrooms was a godsend with there being six of us. Close to Peasholm Park, town and the beach. Can not fault this house at all. The bottle of wine, cake and milk was a nice touch as well. We would stay here again and would definitely recommend to friends. Thank you for sharing your lovely home.

This is our second visit to Moorland House and not our last, we have already rebooked.

The house is clean, well-equipped and very cosy - home from home. The new tumble dryer is great. So close to North Bay and Peasholm Park certainly not much pavement pounding for the daily dog walks. Not too far to walk into South Bay either. The owner cannot do enough for his guests which is such a change as well as actually taking on board feedback as is apparent from the changes and additions. As a guest that is fantastic. Could not recommend this property and owner more.

toilet with the shower was filling up and emptying every five minuites one day and was becoming a distraction also TV neds attension unable to turn on and off remote also leaflets need updating we left a map and one or two new leafletts

Moorland House is a clean and very well equipped property.

The lovely welcome pack of wine, cake and milk was much appreciated. We had no problems parking outside the property each day. The area is surprisingly quiet, and the outside space to the back of the property is very secure, as we took our two dogs. Ideal for exploring Scarborough and the surrounding areas. My only negative was the lights in the living room were too bright to put on in the evening, and so was the lamp, so a softer light would be better to have a choice of lower lighting. We would definitely book Moorland House again.

Would have liked the instructions for the shower in cubicle and the bin schedule which was not listed in back of instruction booklet as stated.If you are travelling by train as we did then do not take one of the white taxis outside the station,quite expensive for such a short ride,all in all a very nice stay,recommended.

Great house in a fantastic location.

House had everything we needed as a family for a lovely Xmas break, including amazing Xmas decorations and tree. We very much enjoyed the board games, especially The really nasty horse racing game :-) definitely we will be back for another holiday. Nice outdoor area when the sun is out. Close to shops and couple of minutes walk to Peasholm Park. Welcome Pack was nice to find on arrival, plenty of dvds, board games & books. Will definitely go back.

This property has everything you need - just pack your bags and go! The beaches and the town are all in easy walking distance and other places of interest are not too far away. Definitely somewhere we will be coming back to again!

Well what can I say, had a perfect stay.

The house is beautiful well equipped with everything you need home from home. We didn't need anything at all. Also I left my dyson hairdryer and the cleaner found it and told Ryk the owner who then posted it back to me. This showed us there are honest and good people still about. Rest assured this house and owner and cleaners all 1st class. Thank you for a wonderful stay and your honesty and staff should be really proud of themselves. Highly recommended will definitely be visiting again without a doubt. Thank you

The cottage was superb, decor lovely and very well equipped, and parking etc very well organised.

The location was superb, very short walk to either beach or shops, but very quiet well tended street. My only tiny criticism was all the knives were very blunt. We had to cut everything with the bread knife, but I could see from previous reviews that the owners are very quick to respond to such comments.

The house could have been cleaner, the radiators were not clean at all, floors were dirty and the washroom was definitely somewhere not suitable to enter never mind to clean your clothes in was not pleasant at all, slugs were inside the house trails were found in the living room again this was not a pleasant experience.

The shower room could have done with some shelving to put toiletries on etc .

A beautiful house with excellent facilities well located for all Scarborough’s amenities.

The road it is on has pass only parking and scratch card style permits were provided - each scratch card lasts 2 days and enough were provided for 2 cars for the duration of the stay.

Moorland house has a home away from home feel, - it has everything you need in a modern home, - Amazing location close to beach and Peasholm park, - Perfectly comfortable for a family of 5 and 2 dogs, - Had 2 great, fun, family evenings in using the in-house games selection, - Great outdoor space and BBQ area, allowing a very relaxed outdoor evening.

- the only tiny critism is that the utility/wash room needs updating to eliminate the musty/damp smell but has a washing machine and tumble dryer which has reduced our home washing, which is always a bonus! We will definitely be booking again.

Booked this house before lockdown to help with house exchange it has everything you need well stocked kitchen Peasholm Park at the bottom of the street also a shop and very good fish/chip shop just along from Peasholm Park is the North Bay walk to Sea Life or to South Bay and back a very easy walk up the street to town centre about 15 minutes excellent wi-fi

Fantastic holiday house.

A good base to travel and explore the Yorkshire coast. The house had everything we needed. It was clean and tidy and had all we needed. The gifts left by the owners were a lovely touch. Scarborough town and beach were walking distance. We would definitely recommend this house to others.

Only negative is the bbq in the picture doesn’t work but we just cooked the stuff in the oven. Didn’t spoil our experience one bit.

Ideal location.

Very well equipped. The internal stairs are steep. There was a welcome stair gate at the foot but we had to be very careful upstairs with our 2year old who wants to explore everywhere. This is only a minor point great holiday.

The house was pure luxury and was perfect for all 3 kids the the dog.

Every conceivable amenity was in place. Decor was modern and felt really comfortable. Wine, cake and milk upon arrival was a really nice touch. Area was very quiet yet close to all amenities. Spacious house made all the better for accepting pets too. Would book again.

It Is very central a beautiful house kept at a very high standard .

The owner gives you permits to park right outside the house which is very good . 10 out of 10 on every aspect . We will certainly use Moorland House again in the future. The Moyes Mob from Edinburgh
