Beautiful cottage, right in the centre of Pickering.

Well stocked with everything needed from cutlery to bedding, very comfortable accomodation etc. Lovely welcome pack. Parking space is premium when staying and was much welcomed. I would definitely rate this cottage highly.

Every part of this property was clean , comfortable and fresh, nice little welcome pack too. Great location for exploring Yorkshire & Pickering is lovely.

The cottage was generally comfortable and well-equipped, but we stayed during a warm week and there are unfortunately no fans in the cottage so we had an uncomfortable few nights - especially the kids in the attic bedroom.

The cottage is also on a very noisy main road (we live on a busy A road ourselves so we're used to road noise) but it really disrupted my 2 year old's sleep - even more so with having to have the windows open at night. The walls to next door are very thin and we had problems with very noisy Airbnb guests ones night which again kept everyone up past midnight. Unfortunately the washing machine and TV broke while we were there, too. The owners communicated well but the washing machine wasn't fixed until the 6th day of our trip, and the TV was never replaced or fixed so we had 36 hours without, which wasn't ideal while trying to pack up at the end of a holiday with young children in tow. We probably wouldn't stay at Dove Cottage again given the road noise, and the potential for disruption from next door (I was also quite stressed then about my kids potentially upsetting neighbours if they were playing loudly, so it was quite hard to relax) but would definitely like to go back to Pickering.

Dove Cottage is perfect, very clean and comfortable close to all amenities there are so many things to do and see.

Highly recommend Spice 4 U. Having a parking space is an additional bonus, we had a wonderful time definitely recommend and will book again. Thank You Ann and Phil. X

We had a very comfortable home from home experience staying here. Everything that you need is provided including the luxury of safe parking. It is very clean , comfortable beds lovely decor and furniture and very handy for town . Everything you could want in a holiday cottage

Just returned from a lovely stay at Dove Cottage.

The cottage was spotlessly clean, cozy & very comfortable. It was well equipped with everything you needed for your stay there. The owners had thought of everything. Parking was easy, as it was in the Black Swan car park behind the cottage. Close to all amenities, especially the Spice 4 U Indian & Lee’s Chinese where the food was amazing & again a minute or two away. The only complaint I would say we had was the fact that the cottage next door, shared the front door with doors in the lobby bit to each cottage. It could be quite noisy when the people next door came in & unfortunately during our week there was a family renting the cottage next door & the father had a bit of a foul mouth & was very loud at times when telling the children off, but then we don’t have neighbours back home so we noticed the noise more. I would definitely recommend Dove Cottage.

We have just returned to Dove Cottage for the second time and I am pleased to report it’s still as good as ever!

The house is located within a five minute walk of all Pickering has to offer and is ideally placed to explore North Yorkshire. The owners offer such a personal touch and their communication is amazing. Anyone staying here will be not only satisfied with their lodgings during their stay, but will hopefully leave as relaxed as we now feel after a week away here.

Dove cottage is a beautifully presented, homely cottage that hugs you when you walk through the door.

Everything we needed for our stay was there. A wonderful welcome hamper with some very thoughtful gifts. The cottage is in the centre of Pickering and close to all amenities. Thank you to Ann and Phil for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful cottage in a great location.

The beds were comfortable, the shower was great. So clean. Cosy log fire and comfortable sofas. It had everything you need to make your stay perfect. I did find the road outside a little noisy so if your a light sleeper take some earplugs! Really lovely stay near great restaurants and the tourist attractions! Eat at Figoro’s Italian if you want a great meal out.

A very cosy cottage done up for our Christmas break, was our 2nd visit & won't be the last, loved the hamper of goodies much appreciated, a lovely position for exploring the area

Dove Cottage was ideally placed for getting into town and going to the train station.

It was cosy, comfortable, warm and clean. Well equipped and should you have forgotten anything you would find it within the cottage. The welcome hamper was a lovely surprise with home made chutney and jams in it.

Fantastic property in an excellent location for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors.

The house was very comfortable and was very well equipped. Ann and Phil were great hosts, very responsive to any query and left a very welcome and delicious hamper for us. We plan to return soon!!

A lovely cottage in a good position to walk into town, although on a very noisy road.

Clean & nicely decorated throughout. We did find the sofa's uncomfortable at the of the evening, they are hard. We were unable to have a bath because the plug would not stay in. A nice little courtyard for the dog. A well equiped kitchen with everything we needed. Parking was easy in the pub carpark. We are both arthritis sufferers and found crouching down several times a day to the under counter fridges caused us pain each time. They would be better mounted on a raised plynth perhaps? I recommend this cottage it is lovely, but not if you have mobility issues - due to the low fridges & steep stairs.

Stairs narrow and difficult to get suitcase up as they are quite steep.

Could do with another handrail on other side for lefthanders! Bedrooms could do with double glazing as road is noisy early in mornings. Cottage well maintained and in a very convenient spot especially useful having own parking space. Good decor throughout. Plenty of utensils etc. Would definitely book again.

All amenities are within easy walking distance of the cottage.

The parking arrangement with the Black Swan pub works well. We were very happy with the standard of cleanliness, the equipment provided and the thoughtful welcome pack.

Lovely clean property just around the corner from the high street and North Yorkshire Steam Railway Station.

Very comfortable with everything needed for a relaxing stay, especially the beds! Parking in the Black swan car park was very convenient and just outside the cottage courtyard. Owners kindly contacted us when we had left an item of property at the cottage and arranged return to us which was very kind. Very tastefully decorated and homely, thank you!

We have just returned from our third stay at Dove Cottage and as always, we found it very comfortable and clean with all the amenities and equipment you could wish for.

It's ideally situated minutes from the town centre with the added bonus of free parking next to the property. On the odd occasion we have had a query, the owners have been very helpful and the welcome pack provided was much appreciated.

Had a really lovely time in Pickering, but the cottage was faultless, very cosy ,clean & comfortable, was sad to leave, would definitely book cottage again the owners do a wonderful job at maintaining the period features, as we say a wonderful holiday, in a wonderful cottage can't wait to book up again !

We had a lovely break at dove cottage , everything we needed was there , welcome pack plus a bottle of fizz was a bonus too .

We were so impressed with this little cottage, the owners had thought of absolutely everything possible to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

We really appreciated the welcome hamper, that’s a lovely touch. I was really impressed with how clean the cottage was, this is always the most important aspect for me. It was great to have no stress parking and we also had some really good takeaways, everything is on the doorstep. We would definitely book again.

We have just returned after an amazing stay at Dove Cottage, everything was perfect!

From contact with the owners before we arrived, to the thoughtful welcome basket, the house was a true home from home. It has all you could ever need for a break away from it all, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property to anyone and are already planning on returning!

A fabulous property in central Pickering with parking and a delightful outside space for summer evenings.

Everything we needed was there. The towels were really soft and a great size. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious with a good shower. Two comfortable sofas in a lovely cosy sitting room. It was a really relaxing space. The owners really look after the property and have created a real home away from home. The welcome hamper was lovely.

Our stay at Dove Cottage was perfect.

The cottage is well appointed, clean, and comfortable. We had every amenity we needed for cooking and laundry. The location is ideal with so many sites at its doorstep including Pickering Castle, Helmsley Castle, Rievaulx Abbey, Castle Howard, and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Parking is convenient and the adjacent pub was friendly and accommodating. There is a Coop and. Lidl within walking distance which was also great.

This was our second holiday in Dove Cottage and one of the best we have used.

The cottage is very comfortable, well equipped and clean. Everything we could need was provided, including a lovely welcome pack and the guaranteed parking space is a definite bonus. We will definitely try to book again next year.

Beautifully appointed little cottage in the middle of Pickering.

Everything one could want is there - plus many little extras above what many owners provide. For a couple it is perfect - however it is fair to say it is really too small for 2 couples to share, especially as there is only 1 loo, and that is in the bathroom.

The cottage is home from home, very comfortable and easy to get to different places.

I will definitely share with my family and friends. The only thing I feel should be sorted was not being able to use the front door. But otherwise a fantastic place to stay

My adult son and I have just returned home after a 4 night stay in Dove Cottage and it could not have been more comfortable or well equipped.

The welcome hamper was such a lovely feature and just what we needed after a long drive. The attention to detail in the cottage makes it a home from home and I think we will be back again!

Very central to the town and walks nearby. Very clean and well thought out with decoration. Beds are comfortable, and a good shower. Everything you need is there. The welcome pack is a thoughtful extra.

Wonderfully comfortable and spotless cottage with everything you need for a truly self catering holiday, in the centre of a lovely market town.

Castle Howard is very close, York made a wonderful day out, and the steam train was running. Had a great holiday and will be back.

Nice property, good base to visit surrounding area, though plenty to see and do in Pickering.

Cannot fault accomodation, and area. Owners provided a extremely nice welcome, basket/hamper.

Owners are helpful and promptly responsive to requests for advice. Only slight downside is some traffic noise but not so intrusive that it caused sleep issues. Overall a definite thumbs up.

We had an amazing stay in December at Dove Cottage.

The little touches really added to the stay. The Christmas decorations and the welcome hamper were really thoughtful. The cottage is beautiful and extremely well maintained. The owner Ann, was lovely and provided us with everything myself and my Mum could need. The cottage is perfectly situated for trips to Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Castle Howard and of course Pickering. We will certainly be back.

We had a delightful week at Dove Cottage.

A real home away from home. Plenty of space for the four of us, plus Holly the Dalmatian! Everything you could possibly need kitchen wise, lovely comfy beds and a powerful shower, even a bowl for the dog! Great location, with lots to explore locally and beyond. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway was a hit with us all. Lovely meal at the Black Swan next door. We would thoroughly recommend, and hope to visit again someday!

Absolutely fabulous, there was nothing we needed that wasn't there.

The cottage was so comfortable even when the temperature dipped and the snow fell. Very well situated within a delightful market town, parking and some very good meals to be had in both Swans. Had a wonderful holiday and have rebooked for later in the year, that's just how good this place is.

Well equipped kitchen and lovely bedrooms. We had a fantastic stay with the cottage making a great base for days out.

We had a four day break over New Year in this superb cottage, what a little gem.

Everything and everyone is catered for, right down to the dog bowl. It’s quite spacious, especially the bedrooms. Good log burner kept us all cosied up on a night. The location is brilliant, just round the corner from the high street. There’s plenty of restaurants and pubs on the doorstep, so no need to drive. We had an Indian takeaway from Spice4u which is about three doors away from the cottage, superb and very reasonably priced. Scarborough, Whitby and Helmsley are not far away and easy to get to. We would like to thank Ann & Phil again for the lovely welcome hamper, very kind and thoughtful. We will be staying again this year..

Very helpful pre arrival.

Lovely central location for exploring this part of Yorkshire. Cottage had everything we needed and more - everything had been thought about. We were a last minute booking for Christmas but the cottage was still decorated with a beautiful tree and some lovely treats in the welcome pack. Thank you for a lovely stay we would not hesitate to reccomend a stay at Dove Cottage.

Just one thing, Dove Cottage is on a main road through Pickering and night time traffic can be heard.

I always take earplugs with me on holiday,just in case, and did use them. Everything about Dove Cottage was excellent and we highly recommend it.

Dove Cottage is really lovely with the added bonus of a car park space in the Black Swan pub next door.

It is very well equipped in both the kitchen and bathroom and the décor and furnishings are pristine. The welcome pack was unexpected and generous. Pickering is very pleasant and accessible to the coast. We found Helmsley to be a hidden gem.

On entering the property we knew we had made the right choice.

It was even nicer than we had imagined and outweighed our expectations. The owners had given a great deal of thought to the needs of visitors and provided the perfect pre-Christmas experience with a Christmas tree, lights and ornaments around the house and a more than generous welcome pack. We were quite overwhelmed and very grateful! We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family and would love to stay again ourselves.

Dove Cottage was beautiful - cosy, warm and comfortable - we loved the log burner and all the little extra touches.

It was really well equipped and had everything we needed and more. The fabulous hamper was such a generous and thoughtful gesture and filled with so many goodies! The bed were really comfortable. It was great to have a washing machine and dryer and also a bike shed. The cottage is perfectly situated for all the amenities in Pickering, which is a delightful town and also close to fabulous walking and cycling areas.

A glorious little cottage, with everything we needed and more.

It was perfect in terms of space, comfort, luxury and location. The parking was a real bonus and Pickering is a bustling, picture perfect town with everything in walking distance. We made use of all the facilities in the cottage and nearby. The hamper was a real treat and we enjoyed it in the cosy surroundings. The attention to detail in the cottage was spot on and I don't think there is anything that could make it better. We didn't use the wood burner but I can just imagine how lovely it would be when it's snowing outside. 10/10 from us!

Having stayed in many holiday rentals we thought that Dove Cottage was one of he best.

Very clean,comfortable, well equipped and close to the town centre with the added bonus of free parking in the Black Swan car park which is next to the cottage.On the day we arrived the owners Anne and Phil sent text to ask if we had settled in OK and another nice touch was a food hamper which was left for us that was much appreciated.

The cottage was excellent; we had a great week.

Centrally located in the town but very quiet, it offers everything you need for a comfortable stay. Lovely seating out in the rear yard. The pub parking arrangement works well. And a note of thanks also for the welcome hamper which was a treat.

A fantastic property, extremely clean and everything you could ever need in the way of facilities.

We really appreciated the welcome basket, a lovely touch. Beautiful courtyard area, a real sun trap where we enjoyed breakfasts and a glass of wine in the evenings. Location is ideal for Whitby, Scarborough, York and many other delightful places that the Yorkshire Dales has to offer. Also, the cottage is really handy for nipping around Pickering with plenty of shops, cafes and pubs. One very minor point, stairs are quite narrow up to the second floor, which only impacted the trips taking a suitcase up and down, otherwise all good. Would highly recommend this cottage.

Lovely, clean cottage close to the centre of Pickering.

Very handy for local mountain bike trails, walks and the beach at Scarborough. The cottage had everything we needed including tea and milk on arrival. The bike storage was 10/10! Beds were very comfortable too. Thank you for a wonderful week (great weather too!)

Dove Cottage is pretty much perfect.

Everything is top quality - towels, bedding, furniture, appliances - and the cottage is very well-equipped. In fact, it’s better than advertised (didn’t know there was a dishwasher!). The cottage feels very homely. Would definitely return. Thank you!

The cottage was very placed for Pickering centre and easy access to Whitby, Scarborough, Helmsley and Malton.

It was spotlessly clean and had everything you would need for a self catering holiday. It was beautifully furnished and decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable and I had the bests night sleep. The owners left a little hamper of goodies which was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Will definitely book this cottage again in the future

The cottage had everything possible to make your stay amazing!

Prime location right next to Pickering town, great local take always should you not want to cook in walking distance and lovely pubs with great out door seating. The games cupboard was a great addition to the cottage for these cold winter days, we just wished we booked a week. We’ll 100% be back.

Dove Cottage was absolutely lovely, beautifully furnished with lovely finishing touches.

It was extremely clean, all bedding & towels were supplied, very cosy, the central heating made it very warm so there was no need to light the wood burner. A super hamper with many goodies, plus the basic items, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, salt & pepper, & plenty of cleaning materials available. The visitors information book was very clear and covered all aspects of the cottage and also included many local as well as further afield walks. The weather wasn't suitable to sit in the pretty small courtyard. Ample parking either at the front of the cottage or in the pub car park which could be accessed via the back door of the cottage. An ideal location for wandering into historic Pickering and for visiting much of the National Park's villages and coastal areas.
