    “I very much enjoyed my stay.”

    The flat has characterful sloping ceilings and is beautifully furnished and decorated. It was clean and comfortable and there was nearly everything I could want in the kitchen, though customarily Sykes properties supply items like soap, tinfoil, washing up liquid and kitchen towel. It might be worth warning people to bring their own or risk paying corner shop prices. I used my phone as a hot spot for WiFi; I bought extra data in case, but in fact I didn't need it. I have docked just one ...

I have docked just one point for facilities and maintenance, first because the flat lacks a chopping board and mirrors low enough for a 5ft person to see more than the top of their head (mentioned in an earlier review), and second because the heater broke and could not be fixed during my stay.

    Hi Stella Many thanks for your kind review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at Carisbrooke House. There should have been a chopping board in the drawers, so I will get the cleaner to bring a new one as it has obviously gone missing. Once again I apologise about the living room heater, but once my electrician said it sounded like the heater would need to be replaced, he wasn't able to fit the job until Wednesday. In your conversation with myself you said you could manage without it, so I booked the electrician in to install a new heater on Wednesday morning. I do hope this didn't spoil your stay. Pickering 17 miles; Whitby 20 miles; York 40 miles.

Popular since Victorian times, the vibrant seaside town of Scarborough retains many of its original fine buildings, parks and gardens, as well as its historic castle which overlooks the town. North Bay and South Bay provide two superb stretches of beautiful, golden sandy beaches, popular with families and small children.
