“For the price and Sykes rating I do not understand how 5 star was achieved.”
Kitchen poorly equipped. 1 small oven tray, tiny saucepans and frying pan.
No tea towel provided, no sugar with the welcome tea & coffee sachets.
Bathroom the fan is extremely noisy, no hand soap, no toilet brush. Poor quality towels, 5 star I would expect bath sheets (The towels I have for the dog are better quality)
Bedroom, adequate. I may suggest providing a blanket. I was cold on the Saturday night yes even though it was August.

Overall was clean however I would suggest doing a deep clean once in a while. Cobwebs over the lighting, behind the WiFi, on the door blinds. Walls need a scrub where people have rubbed on them and the floor needs a good scrubbing not just a mop.
Dog friendly- you may want to add on the advert that you don’t allow dogs in the bedroom or on any furniture.
The garden is poorly maintained. I agree with other reviews that a picket fence to allow the doors to be left open and dogs secured in the garden would be beneficial.
I am sure you attract the bookings because of the close proximity to Whitby however you could raise your holiday lets to the next level with more attention to details and luxury furnishings / amenities in your properties.
We have stayed in many holiday lets and never been expected to bring the kitchen pans from home to be able to cook a full meal nor have I packed hand soap and tea towels.
