“The overall cottage was as described, it was lovely and comfortable.”

My only problem was, reading the reviews about the shower that were a couple of months old, I would have thought the problem with the water and shower would have been fixed by now. My only problem was, reading the reviews about the shower that were a couple of months old, I would have thought the problem with the water and shower would have been fixed by now. The shower head was falling off the wall, making difficult to stand underneath for a shower. But the water from the shower was scalding, it was like boiling water, trying to figure out how to use it, as they're no directions instructions on the tap, was impossible, because the water was so hot the steam filled the room, then no visibility at all. We phoned Sykes about the issue, someone came out to look at it, but we didn't hear back from the visit, no communication at all. Just trying to have a shower was a chore, using the bath taps trying to wash, was not great, washing is a basic need, which turned out to be impossible. It was hot in Whitby at the time too, so a nice shower would have been great. I would only recommend the cottage if the shower worked, without 3 degree burns.
