This beautiful Georgian townhouse has five bedrooms and four bath/shower rooms; boasting sea views and private parking, it's superbly located, a few minutes' walk from the harbour, beach, restaurants and shops. Having been previously featured in 25 Beautiful Homes magazine and Yorkshire Life, it has a superb location in the heart of Whitby, with views of the sea, harbour and Abbey and the advantage of outside space and private parking.

The location was fantastic and the parking was a huge bonus however we had a few issues with the property: 1

There was no water pressure for the main bath so it took over an hour to run - this meant 9 people were having to sue the bath in the ensuite 2. All the door handles kept coming off, luckily nobody got stuck in any of the rooms however it was quite unsettling and we had to keep being cautious of not closing any of the doors 3. It claims to be luxurious however it was quite dirty and everywhere needed re-vamping.

Albany House is an elegant Georgian semi-detached town house arranged on upper ground, first and second floors, with gravelled private forecourt garden and private parking to the rear. The house is located on the junction of Silver Street and The Paddock, although entering the postcode – YO21 3BX - into your SatNav may direct you to Wellington Terrace, a little further up Silver Street!

The house is within a short walk of the many attractions of the town, including the harbour, the town centre and the beach at West Cliff.

Arrival

Please park in the dedicated space to the rear of the house. There is room for two medium sized cars in tandem – just about! Utility Room

The small utility room contains an automatic washing machine and condensing tumble drier, with a further supply of light bulbs and toilet rolls. The room also contains the ironing board, iron and vacuum cleaner. The room also houses the central heating boiler. Miss Goodchild
The house was ideal everything you need is there didn’t find a fault with anything would highly recommend it I would certainly stay there again and so would all of us intact if we need to go other places I will be looking on your site
Mrs Clegg
Comfortable, well equipped house conveniently situated in the centre of Whitby. Walking distance for most of the town's amenities. Ideal for the larger family or group of friends. Excellent Fish & Chip Shop nearby!
Mr Brown
This property was wonderful; clean and beautifully decorated and perfect for our family Everything was as described and more and it has a great location The only negative was the fact that the den for the children had two pieces of wood across so meant they couldn't use it but it certainly didn't spoil the weekend We would definitely recommend this property
Mrs Hodkinson
Lovely property in a great location. Lots of room in the house and had everything we needed. Can recommend.
Miss Burt
We were very impressed with the property and warm welcome with Christmas tree and decorations, also how well appointed the kitchen was. However, we had to stop using the walk-in shower in first floor bedroom (above the kitchen) as it was leaking down the wall into the kitchen where the bench seating is. We did notice that it was mentioned in the visitors book in November. Also the knob on the door of the single bedroom kept falling off! The location was excellent and we enjoyed our five nights stay.
Mr Nixon
Great Place to stay. fantastic location. I would stay again for sure. Only fault was that the house was very dusty in areas like the headboards.
Mrs Cook
Fabulous house but in need of some TLC , good location. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only niggles were we were not able to open all windows and felt uncomfortable in case of fire. No clear fire escape .What smoke/carbon monixide alarms were there seemed dated.Bin problem needs sorting. No clear indication of what bin belongs to what property. All bins were full on arrival and we were told by refuse collectors at the end of our stay that they still would not be emptied as they were contaminated.
Mrs Trussell
The house is lovely but a bit tired. New blinds needed in top floor rooms. Not enough information on which bins were ours. Most of them full. The location is excellent and we didn’t need the cars much. We all loved Whitby and had a fabulous time.
Mrs John
The listing advertised a playroom which was one of the main points we went for this one as we had children with us but upon getting there we found it was blocked off by 2 pieces of wood screwed into the entrance. We were never imformed of this. The listing also advertised a highchair and a travel cot, the highchair was there but no travel cot so my daughter had to sleep on one of the mattresses on the floor. This was such a shame as this tarnished the holiday. As the above wasnt available can someone please contact me as i think its only fair that i should receive some money back as i paid for something that we couldnt use.
Mrs Hardwick
We can’t wait to go back! Plenty of space, great location in town and parking was a bonus
Mrs Simpson
Albany house is a fabulous stay. Exceeded all expectations. Superb and spacious accommodation with everything you would want. Perfect location for the town of Whitby. Would highly recommend
Mrs Edwards
Not as advertised. This property is in desperate need of refurbishment. Bathrooms need updating. Mould around bath and showers. Very worn. Dishwasher left blocked with water unusable. Mould around washing machine. No windows would open all closed. Bedrooms need Re decorating. The standard of this cottage is definitely not as you advertised it. Very dissatisfied
Mr Twigg
We have stayed at Albany House many times over the years. unfortunately we have booked elsewhere next year due to the price hike and the house hasn't had any money spent on it in the past ten years eg same cracked ensuite floor..tatty tiles ..cracked toilet etc. Still lovely Southners will love it.
