Church View

We had a wonderful long weekend at Church View in Withernick.

It’s in a great location and is incredibly peaceful. The welcome gifts for both us and our dogs were such a thoughtful touch, and we especially loved the cooling mat left for the dogs. The beds were really comfortable, and the accommodation had everything we needed. We would happily stay again!

We had a lovely week in this bungalow.

It is perfectly situated on the edge of the village and only 10min from Hornsea. The accommodation was bright, clean, modern and very comfortable. Beautifully presented inside and out. A great find. We hope to return soon.

This property is well equipt very clean and comfortable The location is very good with easy access to shops and beaches.

The property is very secluded and has great areas for outside relaxing and dining. It is also very dog friendly. We had a very relaxing, comfortable and chilled out time.

A lovely property in a great location, great outside area to sit in and for the dog. Ideal location to travel about, local pub and fish and chips from The Frying Farmer. The owners left a lovely welcome hamper, people and dog friendly. We look forward to returning in the future.

The peace and tranquillity of this property and surroundings is lovely, a great place to wind down.

We love the north east coast so it is an ideal property for our needs. The owners are very thoughtful and always leave plenty of treats. This is our second visit and it did not disappoint in any way, We would strongly recommend.

Very well provisioned. Being a hotel manger, myself, I can't swith off. However, Helen & Paul have done a great job with Church View. As a result I managed to go into relax mode. We will be looking to return. Thank you, and best wishes.

Lovely well equipped cottage.

Everything worked. Comfortable beds and sofas. Nice showers and bath. Rural quiet location. 10 minutes drive to the beach, 20 minutes to Beverley and Hull. Within an hour of many pretty destinations.

Really pleasant stay, lovely surroundings lots of outside seating options.

We chose to leave a day early only because of other commitments, would recommend.

This was our second visit to this house, it is a lovely house with everything you need, it’s the sort of house you can see yourself happily living there 10/15 min run into Hornsea and 10 min run to Mappleton beach so close enough to the coast The welcome gifts were lovely, including doggy gifts too Would definitely recommend this house to couples or a family

It's so comfortable and quiet and well equipped. The welcome packs for us and our dog was lovely. Flowers in the dining room were a nice touch. The weather wasn't so good but we were more than happy to relax and enjoy the comfy sofas

A very peaceful stay in quality accommodation. The owners go out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. Whilst we were there, there was a problem with water supply in the village. The owners took the trouble to contact us to keep us informed. Proper service.

Get away from it all at ‘Church View’.

It was quiet , tranquil and got our top marks for comfort and cleanliness Our small dogs were made to feel welcome and enjoyed sniffing around in the safe garden, they also loved the doggie treats left by the owners, as did we the ‘Prosecco’ , fresh bread, butter and other goodies left were most welcome We will definitely be back

Very comfortable stay we particularly enjoyed the outside spaces and sitting outside and watching the sun go down from the decking area. table and chairs provided in more sheltered area on other side of building. location is excellent only a few miles from coast. fact that there is an excellent friendly pub doing wonderful meals only a short walk away is an added bonus. Enjoyed our recent visit o much that on way home rebooked for next June.

From the first minute to the last we loved this bungalow.

We've been to many cottages etc but this was probably the best. The owners have made it home from home and lovely little touches and welcome gifts were icing on the cake. We highly recommend this properly to anyone considering a rural retreat but close to a pub in the village,with other lovely villages close by. The coast is also close. Our dogs loved it too, especially when they saw the horse in the field at the back! We've never returned to any property, but we might make an exception for Church View. 10/10, well done Helen and Paul

Church View is an absolute gem!

Clean, well equipped, and comfortable. The outdoor seating areas are well appointed, with the table and chairs by the lounge being a super sun trap. The decking area is also sheltered, with a lovely view over the pony field and all very secure for the dogs. The welcome packs for two and four legged members of our group were much appreciated. Withernwick was a great base to visit Hornsea, Beverley and the terrific Deep and Streetlife Museums in Hull. We left the dogs at Peekaboo doggy daycare for three days so we could visit non dog friendly places. It is less than fifteen minutes away and very highly recommended and so is the accommodation.

Everything you need for a comfy stay.

Spacious inside and outside. Nice quiet area. Lovely to be 5 minutes walk to the pub which had nice meals and friendly staff. Convenient location for many different things to visit. Lots of leaflets about nearby locations to visit.

The house was lovely, all good size rooms, so plenty space for us all Kitchen a good size with plenty accessories 3 comfy beds and plenty storage space in each bedroom The outside space was a lovely bonus, the decking at the back looks onto a field, so no one overlooking the house anywhere and there is seating in a sheltered area too Close enough to the coast, for a run out daily Mappleton beach was lovely for the dogs with a nice tearoom there We loved the house that much we have rebooked for the new year, we will then be able to light the open fire between the lounge and dining room Would definitely recommend to families or couples/friends holidaying together

We really enjoyed our week at Church View, it completely delivered all our expectations.

It is a quiet location in the village and is very comfortable and well appointed catering for all your holiday needs. The beds are comfortable and there are nice areas in the garden to relax in. We found several dog friendly pubs in the area serving good pub lunches. Hornsea is close by with shops if self catering, with a large Tesco store. and is a popular seaside town. We would definitely return as we love the area, and Church View is certainly worth a revisit

We love staying at Church View.

The house is always clean and comfortable, a home away from home. We highly recommend it if you are looking for somewhere to stay with easy access to the East Coast. (Only one recommendation for the owners - maybe add some storage to the front bedroom though this does not in anyway take away from how fabulous the house is). :)

This is a lovely light, clean and spacious bungalow in a quiet village location.

Excellent kitchen and bathroom facilities, very comfortable bed and furniture. The enclosed garden is mostly patio but also has a nice shady spot to sit if it’s hot. Our dog settled in very well. Everything you need as a base to explore the East Riding of Yorkshire. Bridlington and Beverley close by. Great stay all round, thank you

The accommodation was very good,very clean and comfortable.

The only criticism is that cottage is suitable for 6 people and I always cook while I'm away and there was only 2 saucepans. Definitely needs 3. But it was a lovely stay.

This is a really beautiful cottage with everything you need for a very relaxing holiday.

It is well set out with excellent beds for a good night's rest. The bungalow is well equipped. Just a small point to be aware of the paving on the ramp at the front door does get slippy when wet but that's the nature of York stone. We loved it so much we booked again two days into our holiday for next year!

Lovely bungalow which was well presented and clean.

The beds were comfy as were the sofa's in the living room. The bedrooms and bathroom were a good size with plenty of room. The dog settled well which was good as he is very fussy!! There is a pub just round the corner which unfortunately does not allow dogs which is a shame, so we didnt go there for a meal. Welcome pack provided for us and our fur baby, thank you. Had a great time and would definitely book again

From the moment we arrived we were impressed.

The property was very clean & tidy. There was some lovely welcome treats for us and our 2 dogs. It was extremely well equipped & really comfortable. We loved it so much we WILL DEFINITELY be going back.

The bungalow and its surroundings are beautiful. It has everything you need and more, the little touches, fresh daffodils, the welcome pack of milk, bread, bubbly and jams. A lovely message from the owners, checking to ensure everything is OK. Definitely planning our next visit. To top our stay off, the weather was amazing !!!!.

It is a comfortable, clean and peaceful place to stay. The kitchen has been refurbished since our last visit and it is stunning and very well equipped. I’m sure we will be back!

Had an amazing stay!

Perfect base for exploring the surrounding areas. The beds are the comfiest beds (gutted to go back to my own)! Fresh towels, welcome treats for us and our 4 legged friend - very welcoming. Owners were great and on hand for any help needed without being intrusive. Even posting us some items we left behind. Local pub lovely but unfortunately not pet friendly but plenty of pubs within driving distance to visit. If you like a curry try Hornsea Tandoori, nicest food we have had in a long time and delivered to us no problem. Definitely would recommend this lovely home from home, thank you!

A lovely, very well maintained bungalow, Helen & Paul have thought of everything, even for the dogs.

We all appreciated the welcome packs. The kitchen is very well equipped, with the addition of an air fryer since our last stay. A set of food storage boxes would be another great addition. Falcon pub, a few minutes away does superb food, but disappointed they decided not to open NYE or NYD this year. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or return to Church View, we love it. A lovely, quiet bungalow with all the amenities needed for a full self catered visit.

Easy driving to visit Hull and all the seaside areas nearby. Would highly recommend. The Falcon pub is a nice local, all very friendly and a very good Sunday lunch.

A real home away from home.

Lovely comfortable home in a really nice setting, even a lovely horse in the field adjoining property. Highly recommend this property and we would love to come back for another visit. Absolutely superb!!

The accommodation is spacious, comfortable and sits in a quiet, peaceful location away from the road. Our dog settled in quickly ( always a good sign ) and the surrounding garden is secure. There is lots to do and see in the area and we can recommend Church View without hesitation.

We had a lovely stay in church view very comfortable and clean If we were to have any criticisms to make it would be the kitchen utensils were very sparse ie:- we went to mash some potatoes only to find no masher!

! Also no chopping boards (only bread board) and lastly nothing to stand hot pans on (didn't want to stand straight onto kitchen top as wasn't sure it would take the heat) But as we said only minor points

We booked for 3 nights for some much needed R&R and we were not dissapointed!

Fabulous birdsong and a quiet village location with easy access to Hornsea and Mappleton beaches which the dogs loved. We have just spent a fabulous long weekend at Church View.

The accommodation was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The garden is perfect for sitting out and enjoying the birdsong. We felt really at home here and plan to return in the future. We couldn’t fault it!

The best cottage/bungalow that we have rented.

Spotlessly clean, well decorated. Furniture excellent. Utensils etc, all that you would need. Quiet location up a long drive. Local pub very friendly and serves excellent food.

Just returned from a very relaxing stay at Church View.

Really enjoyed staying here. The bungalow is well placed for coastal visits and close to Beverley which has some fabulous shops and pubs. There is a pub within a two minute walk but not dog friendly. The accommodation was top class and very comfortable and clean. The owners left little touches such as fresh flowers and prosseco, milk and biscuits too, which shows they care. Beds were just right and the linen and towels were very soft and smelt nice too. The bathrooms are spacious and the facilities are well laid out and good quality. Kitchen is well equipped, could do with better quality cutlery but we didn't eat in much so it wasn't an issue for us. We were very pleased and would stay again without hesitation.

Beds were really comfortable. The property was very well equipped and was well situated to visit all that East Riding had to offer. Nice welcoming touches from the owners too. The property is a stones throw from The Falcon Pub where you are guaranteed a friendly welcome and good food.

Absolutely stunning property in such a beautiful location.

People in the village are so friendly and Helen and Paul, the owners, were available to help with any issues we had, no matter how minor. Weather was not warm enough to take advantage of the lovely outdoor seating areas but we would love to return in the summer to do just that. Surrounding area is lovely with some beautiful beaches, miles of golden sands.

Owners left a lovely welcome pack for us and the dogs. Well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and return. Falcon pub very near and did great food. We missed the turning to the drive at first. If you get to the Falcon on your right, you've missed it! Drive only about 80yds before pub.

What a lovely stay at Church View.

Nice location within easy driving distance to Hornsea, Withernsea, Beverley and Hull. All set up with Christmas decorations and welcome goodies was an added bonus. Sofas and beds were lovely and comfortable. Great showers in both bathrooms. Kitchen equipment was adequate for cooking. The only downside was the constant bangs from surrounding fields, presumably for bird scaring. It made our dog quite anxious until she got used to it. The TV channels were very difficult to navigate. If we were in the area we would stay here again.

Fantastic Property We had a perfect few days in this beautiful property.

It had everything that you could have wished for and more. It was really clean and comfortable, and in such a peaceful location. Fantastic holiday cottage in a very peaceful and private location.

Lovely long driveway with lots of surrounding nature. Very comfortable place with everything you need and the outdoor area is perfect for dogs. My only complaint was the master bed frame being extremely creaky. It was particularly annoying as my husband frequently gets up in the night and it was very loud each time, so kept waking me. I think if this was replaced then it would be perfect! oh...and the shower in the en-suite is very swish!!

Fantastic little cottage bungalow that immediately felt like a home from home.

Very relaxing surroundings and the house had all the comforts we would have expected. We were a family of 5 adults, 1x 7 year old and 2x dogs. Nice and secure back garden, plenty of parking space and in close proximity to hull city centre and supermarkets.

This is a lovely property.

We have stayed in many properties and this is the best so far. It's well decorated and maintained and in a lovely location - so comfortable and peaceful. The prosecco and essentials were a lovely touch - even a welcome pack for our dog. Bath sheets rather than bath towels made me happy. We will definitely book again next time we're up this way. This was a really excellent property, one of the best of the many we have stayed in.

It's beautifully furnished, well equipped and in a lovely quiet location. Owners were helpful and very prompt with the one query we had. Would recommend wholeheartedly.

This was our first experience of a cottage holiday so we didn't quite know what to expect or what to take with us.

Well we needn't have worried as this homely , spotless Bungalow had everything we needed. Very private down a long sheltered wooded driveway, plenty of room for parking. If your looking for peace other than bird song and relaxation then this gorgeous holiday home is spot on! The little village of Withernwick was a quiet and friendly place to stay. We visited Hornsea several times which has all you need for good shopping and stocking up on fresh food, there's a great Coop in the town and a Tesco with lots of parking. Hornsea has many little cafes and places to eat and drink outside. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Church View and felt sad to leave. It's a beautiful bungalow thoughtfully and tastefully decorated and a much appreciated welcome pack to greet you on arrival, including, Bread, milk, wine, plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits, toilet rolls, hand wash, salt and pepper, dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid and various other items. Plenty of fluffy soft white towels, and beautiful fresh flowers in the comfortable dining room. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. The week we stayed was the hottest of the year but the bungalow remained cool and we couldn't wait to return each day, perfect. We would love to come back very soon.

We loved the welcoming touches, milk in the fridge, beautiful flowers on the table and just so nice and homely, and very clean. Church View is in a lovely quite area away from the road, so relaxing.
