Very disappointed on opening the patio doors to find the car park rather than what was listed on Sykes as a patio/garden.

We felt this was falsely advertised & wasn’t ideal for our dog. However we feel it is a perfect place for non dog owners, being so close to town centre & harbour etc

Apartment was amazing.

Had everything we needed. Only a small walk to town centre would highly recommend

It's such a lovely stay.

This was our 3rd year staying at Cadliam, and won't be out last. The size, cleanliness, parking space and closeness to town are all perfect.

Everything was provided (apart from food of course). Nice welcome pack and some milk, tea bags and coffee provided. Everything was lovely and clean. Plenty of space for the two of us and our dog. Only negative was the mattress on the bed was a bit too firm for me. Operating the TV was a challenge as both remotes were temperamental to use. Parking was in front of the flat, we would have preferred to park at the back in the secure parking, but at least off street parking is provided. The property was nice and warm and the heaters quickly warmed the rooms. short walk into town with a bit of a hill, I had crutches and managed it. Will be booking here again.

Such a lovely comfortable flat for our stay, in a great location, an easy walk into town.

It had everything we needed and the owners were great about coming round immediately to sort out the TV when it didn't work. It was a very quiet area to be in, no disturbing traffic noise, just the occasional seagull!

This property is home from home all the comforts you need.

The place is spotless warm and very comfortable. The parking is a real bonus and being near to town our vehicle never moved. This is our second visit and it won’t be our last. Thank you again,

We’ve booked this property previously because of location and parking.

Every time, the remotes to the tv, sky, dvd have needed batteries and the dvd had to be plugged into the tv. The bathroom sink had ongoing problem with the plug not working. On this visit, went prepared with batteries but the remote buttons not working on tv and sky, so tv very frustrating.also this is a smart tv but is unable to connect to internet as missing the adapter. The bathroom plug now works but takes half an hour to empty due to blockage. Also no milk on arrival on this occasion .We won’t be returning which is a real shame as with these niggles sorted it could be excellent.

Perfect accommodation for a weekend whitby break.

Streets around the property are very crammed & tight with cars but the apartment has its own parking space which makes it perfect.

The Apartment was wonderful, spotlessly clean and very well located, just a short walk from the Town centre.

The availability of Parking was a real bonus. The Aparment was secure and very well appointed. We have no hesitation recommending the Apartment and indeed Sykes Cottages to our Family and friends.

Everything was as advertised, we had a lovely time.

Tried to call the owner for a minor issue, but no reply could have been a problem.

Lovely and clean, fab location and a parking space is a huge bonus.

The property is in walking distance to Whitby.

The accommodation was very clean and well maintained, we will definitely be booking again. The only reason we didn’t score it five on the maintenance was the lack of drinking glasses and no light bulb in the bedside light. Otherwise, everything else was perfect

It's just the perfect location for our stay in Whitby.

The parking space that comes with the property is invaluable. Just a 5 minute walk to town and restaurants. We've already booked for our 3rd stay in 2026.

We adore Whitby and the property is perfectly located for all amenities.

Couple of smaller positives which may mean something to other potential stayers. The double bed is comfortable (I have back issues so that was important for me) and the water pressure was great. Couple detracting points, small too but no less important. The ironing board is broken and the door handle to the lounge door is loose (so we didn’t close it). Also a previous stayer wrote ‘clean me’ on the extractor. So we obliged them and cleaned it! Final point. Instructions on how to use the entertainment equipment would be good. I dropped a message to the owner asking a question about apps and whether I could log onto my own Netflix account via her TV. The response was ‘I’m not technical, I’m sure you can’. For someone who is also not technical this was not an helpful answer. Everything aside, we had a wonderful stay and will be returning to Whitby in the future.

The property is in a great location near the station and town Center we were able to walk fairly easily into town and leave the car in the designated parking space.

The property is spotlessly clean and we were able to gain an early access as we arrived earlier than planned which was really helpful thank you . we did point out a few issues with the owner one we later discovered from other feedback has been an ongoing issue with a simple resolution for quite some time but she failed to respond or even acknowledge any messages .

Must be the 4th or so time we’ve stayed here & have just booked again for 2026, has everything you need along with your own parking spot which is an absolute bonus when staying in Whitby x

Lovely comfortable apartment.

We had everything that was needed, very handy for town and walks. The only downside not a very good reception on tv. The batteries definitely need replacing. Couldn’t switch it on and off on many occasions, we also had problems opening keypad. However they are only minor niggles. Wonderful comfy beds, overall a lovely stay.

We have been a number of times over the past few years and would certainly go again, perhaps the settees could do with some “tlc”. Otherwise everything was perfect.

This property is lovely.

Walking distance of Whitby and amenities. The allocated parking space is an absolute must in Whitby and saved us stressing about finding somewhere to park. It was like home from home, we have already booked for next year.

Wi-Fi information could be better, as mentioned in the guests feedback booklet by other visitors (did call/leave message, but no reply) Location is brilliant as was car parking facility.

Could do with spare batteries for remotes, not sure if they or the Wi-Fi wasn’t working… Outside light not working which made reading the key pad difficult to read. Generally, we were pleased, linen and beds super clean & comfortable. Would recommend. Jan kev n buddy June 2024

Cadliam was very clean nice and warm and has everything you need for a good holiday.

Your own parking spot is a bonus and literally a 5 minute walk into middle of Whitby .we couldn't have asked for more

Booked this property for my parents and they couldn’t praise it enough on their return.

They said location ideal apartment was lovely and spacious spotless clean and would definitely return back.

All perfect for us, perfectly clean, everything catered for and well thought out.

If all holiday rentals were like this there would never be any problems.

The only thing to point out as per another reviewer, is the owner not sending the door key access code I left a voicemail message as they did not pick up their mobile. Then I contacted Sykes who were excellent and got the required information for us. Also, there seemed to be a problem with the key access box. Once the code was input it took 3 of us to finally be able to open the box. Never had this problem with other properties we have visited.

Short walk from the town centre. On site parking is a big plus, as the car parks are quite expensive.

had difficulty inserting the right key in the door, the WiFi instructions were not clear, had to ask for the safe key code on the day of departure, apart from the above had a great few days

Spotlessly clean.

Everything you need for a quality stay. Quiet residential area just a short walk up the hill behind train station. Designated parking bay right at front of property is a bonus. Highly recommend.

It was so well equipped and comfortable it was so nice to come back to after being out all day. There is also a little pub and a chip shop across the road that is literally a stones throw away and the chip shop was lovely

Whilst the appartment was very good the owner/agent's (number given for contact) failure to answer any of my calls or texts about key access made our arrival stressful and I had to contact Sykes emergency number.

Sykes acted quickly thankfully and sorted this. Welcome pack very nice but would have appreciated instead, access to a brush and pan and mop to use, given we had a dog and toddler plys the cot erected rather than having to hunt for it as well as the information about the accommodation. Beds very comfortable.

It was immaculate very comfy and had everything you needed.

Parking space was an added bonus too. Short stroll to the centre of Whitby, handy for the bus station. Very quiet considering your so near to the centre. Lovely lovely holiday…

The accommodation is of really high standard. It’s modern with no clutter but lovely touches that make it extremely comfortable. The bedroom art is particularly apt. There was a welcome basket provided with chocolates and crisps, a lovely touch. Has dedicated parking spot, an absolute boon in Whitby - not a moment wasted worrying about whether you have enough time on your parking ticket to do all the things you want to do. Plus your car is safe overnight. I can not recommend this let highly enough.

It was lovely and warm,beds were comfortable and clean.

We could not find any instructions for the oven so it was a bit of trial and error but we got there in the end. I realise it was a very small thing but we are not night club people so it was nice to watch a little tv,one small problem we could not use the catch up as we didn’t know the code. Otherwise everything was lovely. Thankyou.

A lovely apartment ideal position for a short walk into Whitby.

Very clean and beds comfortable. Only problem we had was shower pressure but thats personal taste. The only thing that would have made it perfect for me was the car parking, although it was off road parking, being the fussy so and so i am with the car I would have preferred to have parked through the arch in the secured parking area rather than at the front of the building. But that would not stop us booking this apartment again.

Lovely spacious ground floor apartment, close to town with its own private car park space.

Very well equipped, however a mop or sweeping brush would have been handy. The patio area leading onto carpark was a sun trap during the day, plenty of room to sit out and have a coffee on a morning. Good quality furniture. Very comfortable with excellent location. Great local amenities nearby including chip shop, 'first in last out' pub, butchers and a community shop selling essentials which are located just up the steps and out of the gate. Would book again.

Well situated.

Clean and comfortable, all mod cons. Access to a mop would have been helpful. Longer teaspoons for the mugs, a bath mat for the bath for showering safely. My other half would have preferred to park inside rather than outside the flat, I thought it was ok though. Anyone booking flat two won't be disappointed. Great flat that's a five minute walk into town. Spacious 2 bedroom flat. Giv it 9.5 out of ten. Enjoyed our time there. Didn't realise until a few days the back gate key is with patio door keys.

What a wonderful apartment Clean and tastefully decorated and furnished

The apartment was wonderfully clean and comfortable and very well situated for the town centre - only a few minutes walk to the shops, bars, restaurants and the beach.

The parking space allocated tot he accommodation was also a real bonus and a premium in Whitby. Instructions for guests were clearly displayed, a very good guest information folder helped with orientation and the welcome basket of food was a very nice touch. The owner was also very helpful on the couple of occasions we had specific questions. We will definitely look to book this accommodation again for a future stay.

Very clean and tidy everything we needed for stay.

Car parking with the cottage is very good you can relax when you get there. Cadliam is perfectly placed for a stay at Whitby. It's that good we have booked again this year 2022 that will be the third time at this cottage.

Had everything you could possibly want when staying away from home. Owner was absolutely amazing and very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend to friends and family. Thank you for such a lovely stay after not being about to do anything for over a year.

The accommodation and onsite parking was fabulous.

Owner could not have been more helpful. Beds and pillows very comfortable. We found Sykes sense of humour interesting , when it was listed there is a patio and two chairs. We guessed the chairs in question might have been put in the locked cupboard next to the bathroom. We are sure the owner would have happily given us access to them if requested. We didn't ask as the space that was termed a 'patio' was certainly not that. I take a size 7 shoe and I could only get.3 at the very most shoe spaces ... and that's how deep the 'patio' was before it went into the car parking space for the flat upstairs. Once the car was in situ, its door would have easily knocked into the chairs, it was that close. No way could you use that as a 'patio' BUT its you, Sykes, upon checking next year for same week as this to book it, we found right across the board the prices had been raised by around 45% plus (£224) ??? It is a real shame you feel it is acceptable to rip the customers off like this... and an even greater shame the owners have given their permission to do so. Those you tread on , on the way up, are usually those same ones you will bump into on the way down. You will get away with it for next years bookings maybe, as folk are so desperate to have a holiday. But we are voting with our feet and have managed to find a lovely place 12 miles outside of Whitby at a decent price with not an agent in sight .

Location of the ground floor flat was ideal.

Just a short walk downhill to the town. Chippy very close, just up the steps from the carpark and across the road. The property was spotless, with everything you needed for a good holiday. The parking is in front of the building not through the gates, so really convenient. I would definitely recommend .

Despite mixed weather and Covid19 restrictions we enjoyed our holiday in Whitby for the half term break.

The apartment was immaculate and well equipped, the beds were comfortable, the location was ideal for walking into town and the parking space was appreciated. Our two young grandsons loved their beach walks at Sandsend and the harbour. The welcome goodies were a lovely touch. We hope to return in January if restrictions allow.

Plenty of places to eat all within 10 minutes walk. Location ideal for moors and coast walks. Definitely use again if coming back to this area.
