Great cottage in an excellent location.

Everything we could need was there for us. We would definitely book and stay in this property again.

Lovely property and very dog friendly.

Really appreciated the supplied dog bed, blanket, bowls and treats. Has no problems finding parking on The Ropery behind property. Super clean and well appointed with views from the bedroom. Would not be suitable for people with mobility issues as steps in both directions - but this is Whitby and stairs are everywhere! I didn’t use the top bedroom, would be great for kids, but tall adults would need to mind their heads. Would recommend for location and views as easy walk into town, once negotiated steps.

What an amazing property!

Couldn’t have been more dog friendly, we felt so relaxed with our two pooches, such a lovely thing. The accommodation was beautifully decorated with really thoughtful touches everywhere. Perfectly situated. We were lucky enough to park behind the property but the abbey car park is only a short walk away so would have been a perfect spot to leave the car.

Had a lovely time here, and very happy overall with the accomodation.

Well located, easy to find and access (information provided clear and accurate), and immaculately presented. Felt like we were staying in an authentic fisherman's cottage. Of note - bath drains very slowly which means water pools when having a shower.

Lovely cottage no good if you have mobility issues,never had any problems parking at the rear of the property,the only issue we had was sorted by the maintenance team the same morning.

Really enjoyed our stay in such a lovely house, it really felt like a home.

Comfy beds, amazing kitchen. House is over 4 storeys and there's steps down to church street which wasn't a problem for us but anyone with mobility issues may struggle. There's a fully enclosed back garden which was ideal for our dogs. Close to old town, just a short walk away. We paid for parking nearby but in quiet season might get free parking on Ropery

We really enjoyed our stay at Navigator’s Rest and would definitely recommend it.

Brilliant location within Whitby and we managed to get a parking space on the road behind the property on a busy Easter weekend. The house itself is clean and comfortable. The kitchen is really cosy. Easy to operate heating, if required. Welcomed the Netflix on the TV. Very dog friendly. The bin area mentioned in other earlier reviews was tidy and no issues on our visit. (Would suggest extra cutlery, particularly forks and spoons as an improvement. Unfortunately we didn’t get even a single sheet of toilet paper on arrival - I assume an oversight of the cleaner, perhaps come prepared)

Fabulous ‘cottage’ to stay in as long as you can do steps.

Not just in the house but access to. In a superb position for getting into the town. Lovely harbour views from the bedrooms day and night. Comfortable and warm. Lovely villages and beaches easily accessible by car, so we avoided visiting bigger towns. Dogs had a whale of a time .

We felt the property could have been cleaner and there was a lack of equipment in the kitchen.

No means of making proper coffee and shortage of cutlery and large glasses, no fish slice.

We had a great stay in Whitby, first time away with our grandson.

We all loved the house even with all the stairs

The owners were fantastic and could not do enough to ensure our stay was comfortable.

It is in a nice location with good views over the harbour. Really enjoyed listening to the owls at night!

Those front steps were in a poor state and difficult to park in the rear entrance but the house was very clean and comfortable.

Concerned about possible rodents due to the over flowing bins outside not collected by the council.

This is the most wonderful place to stay.

It has everything you need and more. It's so dog friendly, has a beautiful little courtyard and the location is perfect. The bed was super comfy with an amazing view! It has such a homely feel about and it didn't take long to settle in at all. The owners went above and beyond and we felt extremely welcome. I would highly recommend staying here and I can't wait to be back.

The cottage had everything we could possible need. If we had to comment on one thing it would be that it would be nice to have a radio or some sort of music in the kitchen. Thank you

A really enjoyable trip to Whitby.

Navigators Rest had everything we needed and more, it was clean, comfortable, cosy and is really well situated. We did find the steps down to the street a bit of a challenge at first but thankfully the rear entrance made unloading much easier.

The property was lovely and well maintained.

It was ideal for us however would not be great for anyone with mobility issues due to the amount of steps. Ty his was however well articulated on he website.

Wonderful four days in Whitby, Navigators Rest was fab, love the place and great location.

We'll try to book again next year.

Disappointing, the cottage was ok, the beds comfortable and lounge and kitchen area were great, getting in and out of the cottage should really have been made more clear, parking was difficult, steps to cottage from front and back were difficult, attic bedroom was only accessible if you bent under beams, bin areas disgusting.

The garden at the back needs some clearing and from where rubbish is placed is untidy (many users), otherwise excellent cottage and cozy with good plenty of comforts.

Hob left-hand hand knob is loose and not working, also key in box in the LR table not working in the door. Would come again any time
