Sunshine Cottage

We had a lovely short break at this cosy, well-equipped cottage.

There was a super welcome pack and lots of towels were provided. It was good to have soap dispensers in the kitchen and bathroom. The cooker, hob, microwave and large fridge freezer were all modern and efficient. The beds were comfortable and having Sky TV was a bonus. Although there are steps to access the property, our elderly, infirm dog managed by accessing the cottage by the drive at the side. The situation of the cottage was ideal for visiting nearby attractions as well as for dog walking. We would definitely stay in the cottage again.

Goody box exceptional. Only one problem we had was with both door locks, difficult to open and lock. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay though.

What a fantastic cottage!

Although it appears small from the outside it feels very spacious inside with high ceilings and an abundance of light. However, it was a bit challenging to keep the cottage cool during the early July heatwave, though keeping the blinds closed helped a little. The cottage was fully equipped - and more! What you'd usually take for a self-catering holiday is already thoughtfully provided. The welcome package and supply of provisions was very generous. Spotlessly clean throughout, amazing shower, comfy beds, Sky TV. Off-road parking was a great bonus and very easy to access. Situated in a beautiful, peaceful village. I have walked through here many times and feeling blessed to have been able to stay for a few days to further explore the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay and I hope to return in the near future.

Property was as described, felt very welcomed with lovely welcome hamper, clean and well maintained. Enjoyed our stay thanks.

Beautiful cottage extremely well equipped, lots of towels provided, bed although low was very comfortable.

The welcome pack was excellent and they also provided milk, tea and coffee. Lots of walks straight from the cottage, even provided a custom made OS map for the area which was useful. Local pub at Wesley is great for a drink and good pub food, they also provide a take away service. Would definitely recommend and we will return.

Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Wonderful 5star welcome pack. Small issue with block drain which was swiftly dealt with by owners. Who could not have been nicer. Would happily return.

The cottage small but very clean and warm. Beds were very comfortable. Lots of towels to use. The best equipped holiday accommodation we have stayed in. More sockets in every room than anyone could need. Tea towels, cloths, washing up liquid, tea, sugar and coffee also supplied. Plus milk.

The owners gave us a very generous welcome pack. Very handy for visiting all the beauty spots in the dales. Tennants in Leyburn provides a super breakfast in very pleasant surroundings at a reasonable price. Highly recommend Cottage.

Sunshine Cottage is located in a quiet, friendly, picturesque village with plenty of footpaths close by to explore or walk the dog.

The cottage is spotlessly clean, well maintained and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and provided everything we needed for our stay. We were lucky with the weather but should you need to spend a day inside the tv channels provided would help pass the time. We loved it so much we are considering a return visit even though the drive from our part of the country is long and we are not getting any younger. Would highly recommend.

Sunshine Cottage is the best holiday home I have ever visited.

We have stayed there several times and it has always been clean, warm and inviting. It has everything we need for an active week away in the Dales and sits in a beautiful location. This cottage will stay top of our list for future bookings in this area. Thanks again to the owners for the cleanliness and the welcome package, all greatly appreciated.

A really great stay at such a lovely, well kept cottage.

Very modern open plan style with the owners having thought through and providing every necessary item, even tabs for the dishwasher! I was a little concerned that we wouldn't be warm enough with a heat pump system installed but pleasantly surprised at it's efficiency. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the venue. Thanks for a really good stay.

A lovely cottage in a peaceful location, handily placed for lots of day trips into Wensleydale, Swaledale and further afield.

Also, there are plenty of local walks straight from the front door. The cottage was very clean and tidy for our arrival and remained warm and snug, even when the weather turned frosty. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely holiday staying in Sunshine Cottage, our third time.

Very clean on arrival and a nice welcome basket waiting for us. There was also tea and coffee and milk. Much appreciated. Small cottage but well thought out and equipped. A set of kitchen scales would be helpful and a large saucepan but otherwise all good, would stay again.

The cottage was delightful, immaculately clean, very cosy and comfortable.

The shower was the best I have used whilst stopping in the Dales. The welcome pack was more than generous and very much appreciated. Met the owner on day of arrival and found her to be very polite, well spoken and friendly. She went out of her way to explain how the T.V. worked. Really enjoyed our stay, and health permitting will be back again in the future.

We had a lovely stay, the cottage was excellent, the area and views were wonderful, had a great day at Lake Semerwater, will book again.

Sunshine cottage was exactly as listed.

The cottage was very clean and tidy and smelled lovely! The basket of goodies on the table was very welcome thank you .We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would definitely recommend it. In fact, we were sorry to have to close the door for the last time and leave. What's more, the neighbours were very friendly and spoke to us when we saw them, or called good morning from a distance. All in all, a most enjoyable holiday.

Clive and Bev were fantastic as they made are stay a great experience as our previous booking was not upto standard and between Sykes and themselves went out of there way to help us.

The cottage is well equipped, clean, modern spacious and sits in a beautiful hamlet we’re the views are out of this world.

A perfect cottage in a pretty rural village within easy reach of tourist attractions.

The appointments are modern and of high quality, creating a very clean and comfortable place to relax and unwind after a busy day. Our small car (Mazda 2) fitted perfectly into the car park and there is on-street parking for larger cars. Highly recommended!

Delightful cottage, finished to a high standard with modern, quality fittings, furniture and soft furnishings.

Everything you could need is supplied.

A lovely quiet location, close to some good walking routes.

Leyburn, with its shops, cafes and pubs, Wensley and Redmire are all within easy walking distance. The cottage is warm and comfortable, with all the facilities we required in good working order. The beds are large and comfortable and there is always a plentiful supply of hot water. The large fridge freezer was very useful, as we always take a good selection of chilled and frozen food on holiday. We had a very enjoyable week, in spite of the weather and will be booking again some time next year.

It is a lovely cottage, appointed to a high standard with all needed equipment.

However, we picked it because it was wheelchair friendly so we assumed it was disabled friendly. Unfortunately not - the shower had a 6-8 inch step to get in and the beds were too low for someone with limited mobility. Also, the gate to the ramp was fastened closed. Just need to he careful how you market it. It's in a lovely location and would be great for fully able bodied people.

A fire place and fire would make it feel cosy and less clinical still a very nice place.

Sunshine Cottage is in a lovely quiet location and is the perfect base to explore Wensleydale and Swaledale.

Lots of excellent walks in the area. The cottage is clean, warm and well equipped. The owner responds very quickly to any queries. We definitely hope to return for another week.

This is our 2nd stay at sunshine cottage.

We had a wonderful week and the property is in a lovely location. Unfortunately the cottage was not clean on our arrival. There was dried food under the yellow chair cushion, the sofa was dirty, dirty floors and kitchen work surface, dirt and dust around outside of shower tray. We had to clean before unpacking, not what we would expect on holiday! There is also quite a bit of wear to the property now, plinths in the kitchen loose, shower tray dipping and cracked. Also kitchen equipment lacking; no scales, only small saucepans, no glass bowl/bowl suitable for microwave. Despite this we still had a lovely time but think the cottage is in need of some TLC.

It was a nice place to stay but would say 4 nights would be the max.

Nice area people are friendly. Good location and a quiet area with good views. Clean and tidy with plenty of utensils and information available. Dog friendly. Downside there is no back garden. Overall happy with the stay and recommend.

We had a lovely weekend at sunshine cottage and was well impressed it was like home from home everthing in there was what we wanted n more ….

As a family the only thing missing we all said was a hot tub ….

A wonderful little cottage, with everything we needed for a relaxing break.

Small but perfectly formed! The outside terrace is south facing so great for breakfast and an evening drink. Cottage was warm, clean and comfortable. We hope to be back. Would be helpful to have some information when to put rubbish out for collection etc.

All the rooms are a good size for such a compact space. Such a quiet and lovely village too. Would return again.

The only thing that would have been useful would be information about the various types of ECO friendly contents like the induction hob, smart tv , heating etc.

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful peaceful village.

The cottage itself is more spacious than it looks on the photos. Very comfortable, extremely clean, warm and homely. Would definately go back and would recommend to others. The owners had left fresh milk in the fridge for us, tea, coffee biscuits, tea towel, cloths etc. Lots of beautiful walks right on your doorstep.
