1. The Old Scalby Mills

Located at the end of the Promenade, this dog friendly pub on the Scarborough seafront is perfectly positioned for both walkers and families. It’s right in the heart of the Cleveland Way and is it’s next to the Sea Life Centre! Come for a quick bite to eat or book out the function room and celebrate your occasion in style. There’s a huge selection of real Yorkshire ales and an outdoor terrace to enjoy them on in the summer weather. Tuck into pub classics including locally sourced prawn cocktails, haddock and chips, and much more.


2. Scarborough Arms

Run by a family, this local pub is always ready to welcome families and four-legged friends. Enjoy a full catalogue of beers alongside a hearty meal. The Scarborough Arms is known for serving large portions, so head down to North Terrace if you’re feeling hungry.


3. The Bellyrub

Marketing itself as a Scarborough eatery, craft beer bar and bottle shop, The Bellyrub has it all. Since 2015, this dog-friendly pub has been creating wholesome street food menus and welcoming people in from all walks of life. Not only will you be treated to grub like currywurst fries and Greek salads; you’ll also get the chance to be involved with all the fun. Come along for Thursday quiz nights or monthly themed Saturday trivia, as well as beer tastings and much more. You’ll find The Bellyrub on Victoria Road.

4. The Sanctuary

Looking for more of a social vibe rather than a traditional dog friendly pub in Scarborough? The Sanctuary is ready to welcome everybody, but think more cocktails than real ales. This family-friendly pub runs regular events for the little ones, as well as live sports and cocktail competitions. You’ll find it on St Nicholas Street, right next to the South Bay Beach, so be sure to pop in after a day relaxing on the sand. There’s even a photo booth to capture the moment and a 25% discount for students!


5. The Waterhouse

If you love sport, you’ll love The Waterhouse, which relishes the chance to show all your favourite games on its big screen! The Waterhouse is within a stone’s throw of popular local attractions, including Scarborough Castle, but there’s plenty of fun to be had here too. 6. The Plough

If you’re looking for dog friendly pubs near Scarborough that are away from all the hustle and bustle of the seaside, head to The Plough. Found in the village of Scalby, this friendly local pub was awarded an AA rosette in 2022, so you know you’re getting a good meal. 7. The Valley Bar

This family run dog friendly pub in North Yorkshire is perfectly placed for a day out exploring. You’ll find The Valley Bar on Valley Road, right by the South Bay. Ideally located, the town centre, buses and train station are all nearby. It’s also a short walk from the Scarborough Spa if you’re up for some sightseeing. In the pub, you’ll find a handful of ciders from small, local micro brewers, as well as American craft wheat beer. There are also 100 Belgian beers to choose from, so there’s no end of choice! 8. Hole in the Wall

“Not your average hole in the wall”, this dog friendly Scarborough pub is located next to the beach on Vernon Road. Open seven days a week, you and your pooch are welcome between 12pm to 12 midnight. Enjoy local bevvies from breweries such as Black Sheep, and even bag yourself a 5% discount if you’re a CAMRA member. There are also regular live music events, so pull up a pew and enjoy the home brew!


9. Scarborough Flyer

The newly refurbished Scarborough Flyer is the perfect hangout for trying a huge range of cask ales and watching your favourite sport.
